Aim assist literally does that. Whenever someone vaults or animation cancels, aim assist tracks them just like that, snaplocking onto them. That's how stupid rotational aim assist is. You can test this yourself, strafe left on the left stick and have a friend vault over something with grounded mantle on and you'll see aim assist literally do that. That's how fucking stupid it is.
