It will be good for the dogs - but also for Takis’ peace of mind, the dogs will have more room to play, relax and have more privacy. Super, that the little rescued family will be able to get used to other dogs around, but at a distance. So much work, so much thought is given to the welfare of the animals. A haven for those that knew deprivation, now they have love and security. Thank you, Takis and volunteers ❤❤❤

With the rate of abandoned and abused dogs in Crete it will be filled again in no time. 😢 The city needs a municipal shelter because Takis and Jutta shelter can't take them ALL. The city should be embarrassed.

@@joyful_tanyathe city already has a municipality shelter but that is an awful place and completely full. The previous mayor promised to build a new shelter including a place to neuter animals. Sadly the new mayor is the opposite! The European money every Greek town gets to help the stray animals is used for other things.

@@veroniquecorso9572for years Takis has a fund to pay for neutering of stray animals and pets when the owners can not afford the vet bill. So even when people in his area can get their dogs and cats neutered for free they don’t do it! It is in the Animal Law now that dogs need to be neutered in Greece. But the people just don’t care.

I saw your comment and started reflection on the Shelters around the World, esp the Horrible Shelter situation in the US. I’m baffled by those supposedly In Charge yet Nothing positive is being done to Change the Chaos. There’s enough money to Change it, but it’s not a priority. There’s a difference between Sanctuaries like Asher House, Rescues like Let’s Adopt, and Shelters like Takis! These Dogs are Cared for with Kindness and Love until they find their Perfect Forever Family. If more people continue to Stand Up Against Animal Abuse, try to Change Laws in their area and State, and Volunteer and try to Change their Shelters then Positive Change will Come! Let’s Pray it’ll Be Sooner than Later! Hope this finds you Well and Happy!

I am so excited to see the end results! It doesn't matter how big or small the changes, they always turn out so wonderfully!👍😃 l have never seen any human so deeply devoted to suffering dogs. I love design minds. Having a project in your head means being vital. Even more in this particular case, where Takis uses his mind to design improvements for animals. Since there are works in progress, consider the possibility of a swimming pool. It is always very hot there, and dogs would benefit a lot. I remember Jenny last summer who had slipped into a puddle to cool off and she didn't want to go out anymore. Very funny, I laughed a lot 😝 😜 😂, but also very significant. Great work TAKIS, congratulations❗️❣️🙌❤️🙌

Wonderful those big old olive trees planted in these new areas! The branches grow quick so hopefully soon they will provide shade. Or else Takis will of course put sun screens up for the dogs loving here.

In general Takis only starts projects like this when (the biggest part of) the money is already there. Better than having debts to local entrepreneurs. Of course every euro donated is welcome because of the normal monthly costs for food, wages, vet bills and so on. Takis needs about 22-25 thousand Euros’s every month for his shelter to continue.

@@skippynoah That's smart. I'm so glad Takis knows how to run things so wisely. I support him through Patreon. I see some rescues hold fundraisers for things, but it sounds like Takis just does what he does with what he has, and if people feel moved to help with a donation, they can.

@@thea1rachiel Takis used to own a night club and is quite experienced in how to use social media. Where he posts multiple videos a day other shelters post 1 picture. On his channel you can see the rescue, rehabilitation and sometimes adoption of 1 and the same dog which makes his followers feel connected.

The workers do a brilliant job, the new areas will be great when the trees provide some shade, until then each area will need a bamboo type shelter from the sun I think, where the dogs can chill on a blanket in their peaceful surroundings, or play gently together.
