BIG CHANGE I FORGOT TO COVER IN THE VIDEO! Units with the "ignore modifiers" ability, like Trajann, has been clarified. You now officially ignore stuff like -1 damage, Armor of Contempt etc.

Few things on the Eldar changes: -Yncarne can no longer teleport on enemy turns which makes you able to kill chaff on your turn which is big -The wraithguard change means that before shooting it with 2 units means after the first unit shoots the wraithguard obliterates the second unit before they can activate, and now it is more of a trade with the first unit so multiple shooting activations into wraithguard is hugely buffed. Additionally if you shoot from more than 18" away, they don't even get to shoot back

Currently working on getting the beginner list you made a video on built and painted... These changes appear to give 125 points to work with... Could technically work in a 2nd blade champion or valarian with that

I am a happy chappy with these changes. Our detachment rule finally does something for me and I won’t be as hard punished by Devastating Wounds. I play against Thousand Sons so more often than not it’s a major issue for me. Only worry is lack of taking other detachments when the codex comes out

The biggest thing to note for Imperial Knights is that we didn't get the change we wanted of getting Bondsman abilities back for big knights.

The SW change was before you completed it at the end of the Battle Round. And could only complete the one. So best case scenario you’d get all 4 by the end of turn 4. So being about to compete one on each turn is a large change.

Kind of expected. We'll need to wait till the codex until they make significant changes on stats and ability on units in the army. Even a points drop on Dreadnoughts wouldn't make them worth taking, they're just too slow, not tough enough and lack firepower. Running a squad of 2 bikes + shield cap (he got a MASSIVE decrease), MAY actually be worth doing now... With the points changes, I can fit in an assassin and an extra squad of sisters, which I think is huge in allowing us to score points while our custodes do the damage dealing. 4+++ on Dev Wounds was such a small change, it should have been an emergency FAQ within days from the last slate.... but anyway, here we are.

I wish the land raider got reduced. It's more than 5 guards now. A blade champion and 4 guard is 300 points now. Pretty decent to charge side objectives.

I'm really happy to see that change to the Index detachment ability. You made a good point though, the other detachments will need to have amazing rules in order to compete with the value that the Index detachment has. What are your ideas for possible detachment rules that would be equivalent to a 4+ FNP against Devastating Wounds?

Im happy with the Custodes detachment buff. I play a freind with tyranids and the dev wounds he has are brutal. WE Favoured of Khorne nerf hurts i just built my army and now this update comes out lol

I think this is a good short term solution. Our codex isn't far off, and hopefully, that also brings with it some changes to the FW units (a bit of hopium there, but I'll indulge). In the meantime, we get enough points flexibility to have some extra scorers and our biggest weakness is shored up. For the time being, I'm happy with that. In the meantime, my plan for my next list is to actually try Valerian with some Wardens. Just because I want to see if adding effectively Armor of Contempt to what is already our toughest unit is worth the points. He does come cheap, after all, and has a pretty nasty spear to boot

Oh i for sure think this will bring Custodes up quite a bit, i am just a bit unhappy about the internal balance still being bad. Do keep in mind Valerian AoC is only in melee.

@@Rejnols Oh for sure! I'm disappointed they didn't touch FW at all either. And yeah, I remembered that on Valerian. He'd be an autoinclude (and thirty points more) if he gave buff that during shooting

So far I have tried to play w/ 3 squad of wardens (2 blade champ & trajann), and 1 SC allarus +5 allarus and the list looks strong These changes against dev wounds come clutch in some instances like against the nightbringer or mandrakes shots. The sisters of silence also get this so that's nice

Cut allarus cap for a regular allarus and throw cap into warden unit over champ then you have some spare points

Trajann is back in for sure. Dealing with the ironstorm redemptor dreads and c'tan will be much easier with him. He was good counter melee already, but now he is also a specialist threat. But fitting him won't be easy. I only ran blade champ before and can't drop him, so I'll have to get rid of 3 terms or venatari

Really hope that they remove devastating wound, its one of the most unfun rule of 10th. Create a rule (4+++ vs dev wound) that ignore an other rule (dev wound rule) and the other rule ignore a rule (dev wound ignore normal save), does it make sense?

You sound like someone playing against Magnus when they use Kabal points to make all their models have psychic keywords to their attacks and then using more points to make all psychic attacks have devastating wounds. I believe I had 18 mortal wounds I had to make fnps for from one melee round with Magnus on my custodes

In the rush to get the video out before other youtubers this guy just got a lot of things wrong. It would have been very easy yo doublecheck when he jad doubts abput a change or a rule he didnt understand but instead choose to just say wathever.
