Tbh I didn’t expect that they would put a new opening, as I still remember the 2014 opening when we just popped up at the hatchery. They had so many different intros I remember when we started in the middle of a battle. We had to fly toothless and shoot a ship down. The last one before the newest one was the same but it included a few grimmel dialogue.

The new intro and branch quests are so cool! I hope we'll be able to go back to that location like we were in this past one (the Berk Docks) and encounter Rayne and Sprite again (not counting the Thawfest Dragon Tactics).

Just a tip from someone who have been playing since 2013, its literally a cash grabbing game, so Id say if you want to make the most of it just ourchase a membership and nothing else.

Here are a few tips if you don't want to spend real world money: Play as many ship battle events as possible (they happen every hour, 2 minutes after the top of the hour), they give a random reward out of a select pool of possibilities depending on your place (copper, silver, or gold). If your dragon shoots its fireballs fairly straight from a flying position, camp at one of the recharge stations and aim at the ship from there (there will be no target, so it's down to your aim). To make this easier, consider your first dragon purchase being a Thunderdrum, Scauldron, Hobblegrunt (actually a Threadtail model), Prickleboggle, or Changewing. Most of these dragons are pretty good for battle events even if you don't use the recharge station camping method. As you save up to get dragons, it can be cost effecting to just hoard a load of gems, buy the week trial membership (300 gems cost), then buy tons of dragons. If you do the math right, you'll be paying 300 to save several hundreds or even over a thousand gems). Consider getting a Night Light dragon early (I recommend Dart or Pouncer), because they can actually do Toothless stable missions, some of which award gem chests. I recommend reading up about the expansions. They give dragons as rewards, so if you plan to play those (they're actually pretty fun and unlock new areas), avoid purchasing their respective reward dragons from the store directly (this'll save you a LOT of gems over time). This brings us to the Deathsong, which in my opinion, is one of the BEST dragons to use in the Dragon Tactics minigame as it can hit multiple enemies at once (without the requirement if them being directly in front of it), and has a decent chance to paralyze them. Thankfully, dragons such as the Thunderdrum, Scauldron, and Changewing (which you may remember from the previous recommendation list) are also aces at Dragon Tactics, especially when you use the handy 'Charge Up' feature on the former two. The Thunderdrum can do a great amount of damage to multiple enemies at once, while the Changewing and Scauldron have a 50% chance to poison enemies hit with their fast attack (fast attacks can be used every single turn if you wish). The poisoning from these dragons especially (as opposed to other Poison element dragons) deals a massive amount of damage on the next turn, making this attack very OP as the dragon gains levels. Another amazing dragon for Tactics is the Flightmare. Its fast attack can hit multiple enemies at once, does decent damage, AND has a 50% chance to paralyze hit enemies. You can do this every. single. turn. It's fantastic. As you unlock farm items, focus on chickens. Chicken eggs don't give much energy, but they give a lot of exp, so keep as many chickens as you can for as many eggs as you can get. If you have enough chickens, it can actually negate the need for fishing outside of quest requirements. Additionally, sending your dragons on stable quests takes, but does not require them to have available energy. I recommend only feeding a specific dragon if you're planning to use it for a minigame. You'll save a vast amount of food, thus time and coins this way.

Seriously the gronckle is a pretty good dragon. Its a really good battle dragon, probably the best from the primary starter dragons, it's great for dragon tactics and because it's so agile not so bad for racing. Especially for a beginner.
