At around $1800, they've definitely priced themselves out of the home/small hobbyist mining market. When I saw the KA Box announcement this morning, I was thinking that if they want to be the "IceRiver Killer", it would have to come in under $1000. I'd love to have one, but not at that price.

exactly you need at least 14 month for getting 12000 kaspa ou of this asic + all electricity cost... and after 24 month you end only with 15000 kaspa using the sebfintech spreadsheet tha't include hashrate grow and kaspa reduce emission

If the price is fair then I would be interested. You have to figure that the network hashrate is still increasing and the price of kas has too increase more I think for this to make sense. Come on seb, you said the wattage of 4 ks0 pro for the wattage of 6. Overclocked ks0 pro more at 300 ghs at 125w give or take. so, hashrate of 4 for power of 5. so yeah, shaved about 100w for the new box. This will come down to price. Crypto miner bros has it at 1800. If goldshell has it over 1500 i am advising to pass. If it is 1200-1500 it is a hard maybe. If it is sub 1200...SMASH THAT BUY

hash rate is like ghz on a cpu, the higher the hash rate the higher the calculations. Just do a search for miner profitability on Google and put in your electricity cost and select a miner to see how much you'll make per day at current prices.

Asic marketplace and miner bros prices are always inflated over direct from the manufacturer. They sell the KS0 for around $750, but I got mine from IR for $400ish. So, will we be seeing a price more in the ballpark of $1,200 from Goldshell?

Even at 1000$ it would have been a bad deal, they price the unit compared to iceriver 2023 model KS1, that at the time had 2-3 times more yield. Goldshell release new 2024 unit but use the same 2023 Price??, when the yield is less than a half than what it was back then. The Price should be literally cut in half, and even at that point i would still argue, buying the coin yields more.@@AlteredComponent

@Rippeee honestly at 1k, it would have been a smash buy, and here is why I say that, 1) no it wouldn't be the roi or yields of the ks1, but there have been a number of forks coming off the kaspa network like sedra and bugna. While I don't know if these ever amount to anything, they do spread hashrate and give for flexibility. At 1k I could see a 6-9 month roi. So if you say roi the device at 9 months and there is still demand for the hardware, technically you could sell it for whatever and make profit and or you could keep mining till wheels fall off for profit. But gross price at 1650 plus import duties. So 1800 plus pretty much everywhere. Hard pass

Yes but you are not stuck on the same Algo either and can chase profitability or fill bags until prices go up on the different coins/tokens. Here in Australia that translates to nearly 3K. Can get (used) 8 3060 TIs or 6 3070s for that. Power isn't comparable though...

Kaspa is becoming bitcoin really fast - either you have biggest baddest asic, or you buy usb lottery rigs 300$ each. KS0 all the way. The problem with these units you won;t ROI them, and they will become junk very fast. I can OC my ks0, and double my hashrate anytime, and get better price per hash. Not better price per power. In kaspa world better price per power doesnt exist. You need to mine the yield now - as much as possible. 900$ bucks max - eats power like 4 ks0 pro. In kaspa world you need cheap power otherwise you will be eaten.
