With the latest fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology, the new BMW iX3 has a range of 460 kilometres (286 miles) on a single charge (WLTP), perfect for adventures. The latest digital instrument cluster keeps the driver up-to-date on the range and system performance. BMW Live Cockpit Professional with optional 12.3" display has information, music and key functions all just a tap or voice away.
A refined design gives the new BMW iX3 a sculpted look, finished with new BMW i touches including BMW i Blue accents and an enclosed BMW kidney grille. The standard adaptive LED headlights are now 10 mm slimmer to give the new BMW iX3 a modern and aerodynamically poised look.

This is AMAZING!!! I'm glad that the iX3 isnt just another marketing model with crazy front end and interior, and not to mention the sophisticated software in the infotainment system. I think a lot of current X3 owners will find themselves right at home with this iX3. Should be an easy transition to the electric model! Cant wait to see them in person! And yes, like someone mentioned below, only fast charge when you need it to preserve the life span of the battery. Overnight charging is the best way to go about it.

Speed up the charging, and one also speeds up the degradation of the battery. Therefore, use fast chargers (150KW+) only when you need. When you don’t, slow charge and preserve the battery. 11KW is plenty for most of your life. Thanks BMW! Now, where’s my electric and/or SAF BMW M1???

Best interior and exterior design... Yes, maybe. It's subjective, but I like it as well. However would be nice to see BMW catching up to Tesla in terms of 0-100km/h acceleration and especially range. But it's a good direction!

Tesla needs to focus on the main things and in an electric car then main things are safety, speed and range. I truly hope BMW will catch up in these areas, not just having minimal panel gaps, nice interior, or as you put it... "quality".

Grill is way too small. I would like a grill reaching back to the windscreen and utilizing also the roof of the car, ending at the back bumper. Or why not having the kidneys balanced in the wheels, like RR, just utilizing the entire wheel size? If Tesla can have it's jog steering, you could provide the kidneys instead of a traditional wheel. Or why not fold the kidneys and voila you would have stylish front seats.

It seems to me that the BMW engineers were not very stressed when they created this "new car" :) Management: we need a new electric car. There is a gear shifter nob even in cars with automatic transmission. At the minimum you need: drive, parking, and reverse. Why not use the type of control people are used to also for electric cars?

11 kW AC (home) charging is not too bad. If you need to fast charge it can DC charge at maximum 150 kW (public charging). That gives 80% charge in around 30 minutes.
