Excellent, excellent demo. I have one of these, I leave in the chain at all times - guitar sounds naked without it. 🎸 Don’t use many FX but I run 2 Marshall heads into two cabs that run in stereo. Try & Stay healthy out there everyone !

After watching three demos by guitarists who refused to play with any sort of real overdrive (as is typical of most FX demos), I found this video FAR more useful. Thank you.

This is the first modulation pedal that I think actually makes me sound better. A major achievement lol . The SDD-320 side with button 4 is my current fav. . Superb with high gain too. Adds a secret sauce that is super satisfying adds space and a super subtle second voice that does not detract in any way from your base tones .. hi fi , Stereo is nuts lol seriously fantastic pedal .
@glassslide4 жыл бұрын
WOW!! I had NO CLUE that this pedal had sooo many cool tones, always thought this pedal was sort of derivative of their Chorus (which IS amazing too) and never realized how much of its own thing it had going on---really cool and as always, Pete is the player I want to see demoing a pedal cause I know that as a viewer I will see everything the pedal has to offer, that's just a fact.
@AluminumBird5 жыл бұрын
Best chorus pedal demo I've heard by far. Never really thought about "playing" a chorus pedal the way you can play an overdrive, but you did it.
@JazzmasterJonny6 жыл бұрын
Oh man! Making an SDD-320 mode on this is such a great idea! That rack unit's chorus sound is basically my dream chorus sound, so I'm super excited to see that in a analog pedal format.
@GabrielGAS12016 жыл бұрын
yet it seems they did it digital, cause it wouldn''t fit in the box
@JazzmasterJonny6 жыл бұрын
Oh, I must have missed that. So it's a digital simulation with no BBD chips?
@GabrielGAS12016 жыл бұрын
i dont know for sure, i think (i heard) part of the circuitry is digital cause for the sdd circuitry wouldn't fit the case, but for sure the dc part is analog. But take it with a grain of salt, it MAY be all analog...and it's what boss claims
@GabrielGAS12016 жыл бұрын
ok, my bad...I think I misunderstood Rabea's video...it is just that on the sdd-320 part is not the original complete circuit for the (obvios) previously said reason (it wouldn't fit) and that it wouldng go well having all that in the pedal

Pete, I immediately bought this pedal based on your review. I loved the clean sounds, but as soon as you played Rush it was all over for me! I've been trying to get this tone for years. I plugged the pedal in and immediately got it!!!Great review thanx from one Pete to another.
@GerryBlue6 жыл бұрын
The best demo for this pedal, you really need to listen to modulations with distortion, because most of them will sound nice clean, but not so much with dirt. Rush sounded spot on here
@JB-rw9xt11 ай бұрын
Just a follow up to my previous post. This pedal exceeded my expectations. Running my acoustic electric Composite Acoustic thru it to a Bose Tower system. I got it set on 2 and the slider switch to the left on S. It sounds as good as the Boss Chorus pedal I had in the 80’s. I looked at all the new Boss Chorus pedals before I bought this one. It does not disappoint whatever level of chorus you’re going for.

Ahhhh Thats Hot Pete. Playing your buddy's licks. I honestly believe that Steve Stevens ( Flesh for Fantasy ) is one of the Greatest Guitar Tracks of All Time. The valley's and peaks when Steve goes from that Crystal Chorus to that Dual Rectifier Distortion of Doom. You and Steve Motivate me so much.

Michael Caz I was just looking for that tune but didn’t remember the name. What a pleasant surprise when Pete covered it on this video , and now I know the tune’s name. Last time I’ve heard it was more than 25 years ago.

That particular Guitar Track - Always stood out for me, because of the Variety of Sounds and textures that Steve Stevens played on that song. Even the tonality of the clean vs. the distortion. Epic. If you want to hear the broad-range of Steve Stevens listen to these 2 tracks: Cinecitta and Letter to a Memory. Goes from Flamenco to Heavy Rock.

Great as always Pete. About 25 years ago I was telling people there was a chorusy/phasey effect on SRV's guitar on some of those early tunes and everyone kept telling me I was nuts. I originally postulated that it was a slow leslie very low in the mix, then about 15 years ago I read in an interview with one of the engineers or album producers on Texas Flood that it was actually a Boss Dimension D rack unit. Several people still think I am nuts...lol...but I'm glad to know you can hear it too. Now, I just want to know if you asked Steve Stevens if he remembered which buttons he had pushed in or did you just guess it was buttons 3 & 4 together? ;-)

I was searching trying to find how Steve Stevens creates the tone for Flesh and someone mentioned a Rockman and a Dimension D. Considering it's unlikely I can actually purchase an original Rockman I searched you tube for the Dimension, found this video and low and behold here you are playing the exact song! Wow! Thanks for this vid! Update: I got this pedal and love it. Play it mostly with a Reverend Descent. The baritone with chorus and a little shaken tremo and I’m in Robert Smith territory.

1/28/2021, I purchased and just received my Boss DC 2W based a lot on this Pete Thorn Video demo. It IS everything and more for what I wanted and expected. Peter always brings the Best out of anything he demos! I am a huge Chorus fan and this pedal is so much more, as he explains, then a Chorus pedal by far. I was surprised by how it reacted to dirt too. I’m going to hook up my rig in stereo today to see what it will do, should be fun...By The Way this being my first Boss pedal I was very impressed with the build quality and shear weight of it. It’s Built like a Tank...

Now this is what I call a demo! Smashing Suhr axe too! I have a DC-2 and I'm glad it's back. I remember saying in a comment a few weeks back that the DC-2 would be the next Waza. The DC-2 and DC-3 are true stereo units, both signals are affected. Stunningly beautiful in stereo and I hate saying this but they overcomplicated it! I think the 4 selections of the original are enough.
