Was really surprised they didn't remove this. Before burning required some resource dedication like bringing fire bombs or searching for lanterns. Even dragonsbreath is ok to burn as it's so slow you really need to think if you wanna bring it. Flares and fusees, though? They turned something you had to plan for and apply when needed before to stupid default instaburn. With 2.5x burning speed it makes zero sense.

​@@xNealus because you dont seem to understand why they buffed burning in the first place. Hunt has a big problem with people Camping like crazy and thats not what the devs intended for the game, atleast not in this high amount. Thats the reason they reduced the overall time for missions, the reason why after all bounty left you only have 5 minutes and why they buffed burning. Its just annoying to slowly walking around when someone just camps in a bush after his teammate died and then they force you to stay like 20 minutes or try to leave and hope you dont get headshotted after running. So you can force these people out to save their teammate or just let him die. And if you say you dont camp and hate it there are many ways to just Stop the burn. Bring choke bombs, if you cant reach your friend just have a choke beatle for that and you can even take choke bolts for your hand crossbow. Also camping brings nothing because losing a hunter isnt really punished in hunt, just buy a new one and youre good to go. Camping like that just ruins the fun for people and steal their time (and i know sometimes its best to camp and wait for an oppurtunity, but that shouldnt take over 20 minutes. So if you hate the instaburn meta then just thank these campers

@@roachybill Good point, I agree. But I think the point that the Flare Gun and Fusees isn't the issue still stands. Instead of removing the burn on them, why cant Crytek just decrease or revert the burn damage on only dead bodies? Sounds like an easy fix, even if it doesn't entirely make sense for realism.

More options for burning was a nice change, But the burn speed combined with those changes feels really punishing. Perhaps making it so that Flares/Fusees don't burn as fast as say a fire bomb or dragons breath.

@@roachybill like i said there is the choke beetle and the choke bolts, if you cant go near it. Also the faster burning speed is so, that you dont have to sit minutes on a downed body until its burned, so you dont have to wait as long. So it got faster for the same reason as the chokes get shorter time, to just decrease the time wasted on both sides. So of course this is anti camping, because you have to save your friend directly or he is gone. Sure sometimes it might be annoying but you shouldnt split up in the first place and if you follow that rule the faster burn speed isnt really a problem. Maybe you should change your playstyle instead

*Why double bow isnt more common:* 1. Low-mid level players can't win with bow at high level games. 2. Mosin & Dolch is just an easier build, so naturally players give up and take the easy build. And so a 6 star lobby is born where no one has identity, only spam easy meta.

This is a monumental issue in contemporary multiplayer gaming. Everyone seems to play intrinsically as opposed to extrinsically. Meaning that they only play what they see is statistically the strongest. Or whatever will work FOR THEM immediately, as opposed to playing the way they WANT and MAKING it work for them. Which is where all the fun of literally everything lies. They have this mentality of “well X thing is broken so I have to play that because it’s unbeatable so there’s no other option”. Which is literally never the case. There is only one time in all of multiplayer gaming that I can think of where something was so broken that your only option was to play it yourself and that was Lion and Finka in R6 Siege. The fact of the matter is that nothing is ever so strong that you don’t have any other option. You always do, you can play whatever way you want. You just have to learn how to play that way. And that requires practice, which requires accepting loss. And that’s something no one in this space seems to be okay with anymore. Because everyone here seems to only derive pleasure from their games when they see a win screen. Instead of, y’know, actually playing the fucking game. I think this creates a weird toxic relationship with the game where they seem to hate it because they think they’re limited in how they can play, but also won’t stop playing it because they know it’s a good game. And I think this is a major factor in the general toxicity in multiplayer gaming right now. Sorry for the rant lol. I just hate this shit.

I've currently just installed hunt, and have spent ages playing around in the shooting range and watching vids trying to figure out what i'll be able to play and not get my face stomped off from the git go. @@shangrilaw7561 I agree with this whole heartedly. I personally believe that selling your soul to the meta is the fastest way to kill a game for yourself. I am atrociously bad with the mosin in hunt, if I were to try and play the meta I would get discouraged so fast. But give me a good melee weapon build, and not only are my games better, but I have more fun! It makes even the losses worth it!

@@MrSnake9419Except it doesn’t at all. The spear eats way more stamina and is completely ineffective against immolators and the spider which I believe is also weak to blunt damage like the immolator. It’s very strong, it’s not broken. Honestly this whole approach to game balance needs to stop. What you’re doing is insisting that everything in the game have an intrinsic motivator to use. Meaning there is a logical or stat based reason to run something. Extrinsic motivation should be given way more consideration than it is. Meaning that just because there is an option that is statistically stronger, doesn’t mean you HAVE to use that. Because the fact of the matter is that there is always going to be something that’s just statistically better than the other options. But the other options are still just as viable. They just take more thought to and skill to use. Which makes the reward of good performance with the statistically lesser options that much sweeter. Stop playing things just for the statistical advantages they offer. Stop restricting yourself to only playing what immediately works for you. Play what you want to play and MAKE it work. That’s where the fun of any game lies. Trouble is, that involves accepting that you’re going to lose for a good while before you get it working. And in the last 10 or so years in the multiplayer space, no one is okay with that. For some reason you all seem to only derive enjoyment from seeing a win screen instead of the actual playing of the game. That needs to stop. This mentality is the single most destructive thing to the multiplayer gaming space.
