The Legatum Center for Development & Entrepreneurship at MIT and the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship are hosting a special conversation on the future and face of innovation and entrepreneurship in the US and beyond. Joshua Reed-Diawuoh will join co-authors of the recently released book The New Builders, Seth Levine and Elizabeth MacBride, to discuss how the typical narrative of entrepreneurship is shifting, what new support structures are needed for the next generation of entrepreneurs, and how aspiring innovators can recognize and catalyze innovation in small business.
In the summer of 2019, Seth Levine, a venture capitalist, and Elizabeth MacBride, a business journalist - set out to tell the stories of entrepreneurs beyond the high-tech enclaves of Silicon Valley and New York which culminated in their new book The New Builders.
Today, Seth and Elizabeth will share stories of the community they discovered- an army of New Builders - who are on a mission to create a better future, rebuilding their communities from the grassroots and creating a more dynamic, egalitarian, and equitable society.
