I see this is a little old but I picked up a Mete SFX a while back and its a shooter a really good one for that matter. I was a little upset at first that Canik designed the foot print for micro red dot ( the smaller red dots) instead of the full size red dots anyhow I went with a Holo 507(K) on top and love it, its my new favorite one to shoot now. At 20 yrds 2 to 3 inch tight groups are made on a regular basis. At 10 yards its just a 1inch hole in the center with 50 rounds thru it. Mine likes the 115gr. People ask hey what are you shooting there, a Canik I reply and the look I get is just amazing. After thousands of rounds still not a jam stove or nothing and I have not cleaned it yet. ( Seeing how it performs after 5000 rounds un touched yes I clean my weapons) I hate to say it but it out shoots my higher end handguns. Did I mention the case it comes with and all the accessories. Canik just killed it with the little gun tool. Good vid JY

The METE line is named after *Mete Khan* (Modun Chanyu), the founder of the Xiongnu Empire (Chanyu Empire) in the eastern Eurasian Steppe which battled China over dominance in Inner Asia between the 1st century BCE and the 3rd century CE. Mete Khan is regarded as a legendary hero among Turkish military historians. As you correctly note, _Mete_ is pronounced *Mété* or _Met-eh._ The Century Arms press release stated "Met-A" which many seem to have misinterpreted as "meta" but the _A_ is pronounced like the English letter _A._

This mete was a kick in the dick since a few months back I bought the TP9SFx iteration. It too comes with a suite of cool stuff. The Turks keep making them better and better. The only issue I have is the stippling on the back straps. Accurate series of guns no matter which you buy. Fifty yard accuracy , hell seventy five yard accuracy with a red dot or even some tritium sights.

Excellent review assessment! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Personally, my favorite gun manufacturers are Walther, CZ, and Canik. I bought the METE SFT, in addition to the TP9 DA and the SF I already had. The METE SFT is so impressive, I ended up buying the METE SFX too. Both of them pistols are superb! Amazingly enough, the Canik METE models have an improved trigger pull over the already great trigger of the TP9 models. Canik handguns have established a solid reputation for being reliable, very accurate, with amazing smooth trigger pulls and great ergonomics. ALL that at affordable fair prices. In fact, most makers of striker-fired polymer frame handguns are overpricing their products, with the exception of a few.

Fuckin KZbin not giving me notifications. I was so excited about this, my only complaint about the SFX was losing my rear sight if I wanted to run an RMR. I checked out one in a local store and they somehow made the trigger even better too. Now I just have to see if my NSR holster for my SFX will accept it since the slide release and a couple other things are different.

My TP9 SF (Compact) has been my EDC for over 6 years now. Not one malfunction (besides user/instructor induced for training), has gone bang everytime, and is far more accurate than I could ever be. About 2 years ago I had the slide milled by a gunsmith buddy of mine. A HoloSun 507 sits on it now and has been amazing.

You can’t go wrong with a Canik… Unlike the piece of crap FN FNX-45 Tactical I just bought, haven’t even shot it because the mag release is screwed up making it difficult to remove or insert a magazine. Not a great beginning for a $1,200 gun and my first (and most certainly last) FN! Canik actually cares about their customers unlike FN… So buy a Canik, I have five already and haven’t been disappointed!

Isn't the tp9 sfx target pistol more accurate than the Mete? Tp9 is made for target shooting while the mete is for tactical and defense? I can hit a hand-sized Target 100 ft with my tp9. Also you can use full-size optics on the tp9. The Mete you have to use Mini optics. They are sharp looking though , I might have to get one for my collection. Great video thank you.

Hey James, have you found anyone making aftermarket holsters for these? I was told by Canik that for the SFT, that the TP9SF holsters would work, but most holster manufacterers said, because the METE SFT is 0.1" wider than the TP9SF, that they wouldn't be as compatible because of tolerances.

Good review. I love Canik guns & own several & bought both the META SFT & SFX. However, the cleaning kit does not come with the guns. As great as these 2 guns are & even better trigger than the original TP9SFX, if I install the additional magwell, none of my older Mec-Gar 18 round mags with the +2 baseplate will fit. The baseplate on the META mags has a different taper than my older mags. The squared off baseplate prevents the +2 mags from fully inserting, which causes feeding issues, as well as the mags falling out. I've reached out to Canik. They suggested, Don't use the additional magwell or wait until the newer mags are available. That is my disappointment with Canik

@@TacticalResponseCrew The older 18+2 mags will not fit. Canik had me take the gun & mags to an authorized Canik dealer. They verified & also advised Canik that the mags do not fit. All the training in the world will not fix a mag that does not fit into a gun.

I just bought one (sfx) two weeks ago, only put about 150 rounds through it. I have had it jam, double stack rounds and also the firing pin not setting off a round. I love the way it feels and fires but those issues make me not trust it in time of need.

I’m team Walther and Canik. The PDP has a good trigger, but Canik TP9 has a great trigger. The Canik Mete has a phenomenal trigger. I’m going back to get the Mete SFX that I looked at earlier this week today.

I just bought a Canik Elite Combag and can’t imagine any mod I could do to improve it. To me, it’s just perfect as it is. When I got my Glock 17, I had to put 200 bucks into it for a trigger mod so it didn’t feel like pulling a brick and it still sucks compared to my Canik. Yep. I used to be a Glock fan. But since I got my Canik, my G17 spends more time parked in it’s holster.

First pistol I bought (sft) 2 weeks ago. Put a holosun 407k on it and runs like a dream. Put a 1000 rounds through it in that time. Shot glocks and others and it just more features/thought put in to it for about 100 less (paid 485). All my friends who've shot it geek over the trigger and the ergonomics. The tools that come with it is great for anything you need to do to it. Downsides: won't run steel cased ammo. But anything else no problem. Double check sites. And 20 mag needs to be broken in. I can only get 19 in the 20, but 18 in the normal mag no problem. Also the way the magwell attaches is nice but the 18+2 mag has to get a final bump to seat fully with it on. Otherwise no issue.
