Guess Kobayashi never heard the old saying don't replace what's not broken. Kobayashi didn't held responsible for this losing big time contracts of failed renovations. As many regular citizens is his Company. They were both held accountable and pay damages. After the bankrup, his mother left them, now his father quarreled at him everyday living in the dilapidated apartment and both of them got cried that he saw a magazine that Keiichi & Noa along with her Company gained garnered awards thanks to him.

Kobayashi was forced to declare bankruptcy and shut down the company. Returning to his parents, Kobayashi was greeted by a figurative and literal body slam by his father, who was outraged at how Kobayashi had managed to destroy the company with his mismanagement. As a result, he kicked Kobayashi out and disowned him.

Trading old stuff for new in the workplace can suck IRL. I got my first job when I was 16. I became a 2nd shift male housekeeper at a hospital. I was basically a custodian, orderly, firefighter, security, and other stuff all rolled into one. Several months after I started working at the hospital, an outside company took over some of the departments: engineering and housekeeping being the most notable (I understand that kickbacks were involved). They threw away all of our old tools and supplies to bring in their own stuff (more corruption: they charged the hospital more for their stuff than the hospital was spending on the old stuff, and someone was pocketing the extra money). The old stuff worked a lot better, both the cleaning supplies and the tools. Then they started replacing the old employees with their own people (I was one of those who got fired). They used ridiculous excuses for firing people, but they got away with it because they had one of the hospital administrators in their pocket. So, yeah, I think that it's not cool to get rid of old stuff (or old people) just to bring in the new.

It's more like fixing an excavator that already has 2000 hours on it. Some will fix the tired iron, others just sell it and move on. Both approaches have their pros & cons. Kobayashi just didn't want to see the pros of repairs or the cons of replacing.

Not only is the dialogue in this work almost painful to listen to but like with a lot of this channel's recent works totally lacking in understanding of the business they use. I've worked in and around industrial machinery nearly my entire working life and in manufacturing for the last three years, so I know first hand just how bad equipment that is used both often and for long periods can get. The simple truth is that the problem in real life is that most companies don't replace their equipment enough. You can only repair a machine so many times before it starts being more of a liability than an asset. Not to defend the antagonist's choice to use bad equipment, but it is actually better to replace old equipment when possible and necessary.
