The fact teams won 4 and just gave up the next 2 games as it didn't matter. Playing the same team twice was boring at times and predictable. Now every game matters since everyone is scored together on one table and Liverpool didn't really rest players until the final match day after winning 7 games.

I am Barca fan... I completely agree with you that a coach shouldn't say something like that. But on the other hand maybe by saying that he makes City to relax and then beat them easily, who knows. Personally, I wouldn't say it if I were the coach: I would kept myself neutral like you mentioned. For instance: "we'll do our best to qualify no matter which team we face" or something similar. Another example: "Although both Man City and Celtic are 2 great teams, but we are also great team and will try to win" : this shows more respect to the opponents and also makes your players more confident.

I like this format. It was literally the same as what the Super League had in mind. And even back then I said it was a good change. This format makes it way more exciting to play 7 different opponents instead of the same 3. Also the old groupstage were pretty boring because you knew most of the time who were going through. Also no dropping out to a lower European competition also makes it more fair for the Europa and Conference league

It’s a good idea but I wished they didn’t expand it, bcs the players were already being tired by how many games they had to play, add the 2 extra match days and playoffs, and it’s surprising how Bellingham hasn’t collapsed mid game bcs he’s started every single game since September

The reason why this format is really good is because there is no more "luck". In the old format, the knockouts would be randomly drawn, you could have a hard route or an easy route. With this format, there is no luck, you're route is based on your performance in the table. You are rewarded for your efforts. The route to the final is determined from the start of the entire competition.

liverpool and barca finished 1st and 2nd and are "rewarded" with a 50/50 chance of playing PSG... warra "rewarded for your efforts" that is 😂 the old format was way more fair because of the fixtures, 4 teams play each other twice no bias no lucky fixtures. the "luck" factor in the new format is the fixtures themselves. and i'm saying this as a liverpool fan, how can we say we're first when we haven't proven ourselves against a barca or an inter?

In my opinion we failed because, A we were just bad at the start of the season, B although mbappes found his form in the league he’s still very much off in the champions league, C Carlo keeps playing LV, brahim, and tchouameni at cb instead of the better options we have.
