"The New Dawn" by Serponge | Geometry Dash 2.2

The first proper 2.1 user level I uploaded was "Blue Rift II" by Serponge, so it feels like destiny that my first 2.2 one would be by him as well. While playtesting the update and testing the editor, I kept thinking how crazy the community would go with these tools, including many old creators like Serponge. I hoped people like him would come back, and it seems so judging by the names I've seen around. I can't wait to play more 2.2 levels!
Now, this is obviously a "quick" level considering the time it took to create. It also shows in the visuals at times, which are rather simple in detail. However, that does not mean the level isn't good. In fact, the simplicity adds even more to the main strength of this level: The atmosphere. You have an uneasy feeling playing this, and that uneasiness was definitely warranted given some of the surprising sound effects and transitions. For example, the sound effect at 0:53 definitely scared me while playing. I can't recall feeling this way playing a Geometry Dash level over the past decade. That makes it a worthy early 2.2 experience on its own.

WOW, this is one of the first platformer levels to really make my jaw drop, and of course it would be thanks to serponge. Makes me so beyond excited to see how the update develops over time.

The amount of possibilities and creative freedom the new 2.2 features give creators is incredible. The fact that a quick level made in only 1-2 days can look this cool only makes me wonder what big projects with many people involved or that take months to build will look like. I couldn't be happier about the update and I'm simply blown away by all the features we got.

Even if this level looks empty sometimes, it still shows how much potential 2.2 has. Especially with the parallax, I can't wait for more creators to use 2.2 mechanics well. One of them which I can't wait for is Decay Decay Decay by Voxicat. I'm also happy you are uploading again btw. Also I'm curious, what have you guys been doing since 2.2 released? I already beat Dash with 3 coins + the 4 platformer levels with 3 coins + all gauntlets (Change of Scene has some broken bosses which look funny btw) and some epic levels like Dastardly, Enjoying The Sun and Magic Journey. Also EVERY RATED PLATFORMER lmao
