I'm looking forward to the new East Riverwalk it's looking good. I love the Detroit Riverwalk during the spring when the weather warms up and on a beautiful nice day during the summer.

20 years ago I had my doubts. The Uniroyal plant that was near the bridge had left a ton of toxic waste at the sight that must have been a daunting task to clean up. Glad it finally got done. Now you can walk or ride your bike from Belle Isle to the other end which I think is itself developing further west toward the Ambassador Bridge.

You must not live in Detroit. The city of Detroit has long moved at a slow pace.

The biggest hurdle was contamination left on the site by the old Uniroyal tire plant. Getting toxic land cleaned up and approved for safety by the EPA takes forever.

Don't make sense it should have restaurants and kayak stations fishing stations, @ 3.5 miles bikes, scooters, you should be able to rent skates they didn't put no thought into it's bland

This attitude of looking at the homeless as a blight only shows your depraved human-nature. Tackling the route causes like building housing, effective rehabilitation, and easy access to education is exactly what Detroit is doing and is something I envy as someone in the NYC metro area. This riverwalk used to be a crumbling industrial district and is now a public space to enrich its community.
