The New Gehl Lebanon, Pa Facility 1991

This was a stumbling block in Gehl's history & it almost turned out for the worse. Took a few years for the company to pull itself back up & get back into the black. After that, it would be about a decade before the ag line was discontinued.

Sadly all that and by approx 2005 or there abouts I ordered a new feed mixer, week later the dealer called and wanted to know if I was willing to buy an orphan. Gehl just announced that they were exiting the farm equipment business. I got one of the last weeks production off the line, still have it, it shows being used but still works

When did Gehl aquire Martin for the side slingers? Seen one in good shape for sale the other day, that Martin has to be pretty old.

One of the people that are involved with the Gehl exhibit at the tractor show is a retired product manager & salesman of the forage line who started in '65. There are a few other retired employees that help out & many more that come by for a visit. So, I've heard plenty about the company.over the years. There's also a good book that gives a little info from within called, "Three Generations Of Success: Gehl Company". Also, I haven't missed your other comments.... just been busy with Christmas stuff & everything else. Currently putting a new motor in the vacuum & having AM coffee. ☕

The biggest tragedy of the last century was allowing our companies to not only ho out of business but letting them that survived be bought and moved to Europe and Asia disgusting and this was just over 30 years ago and we wonder why everyone is selling and using drugs and sitting on home for free today
