The Spitfire Mk IXc in War Thunder is the best CAS plane in the game.
At only 4.3 this Israel Spitfire has 16 x 8cm rockets with 300mm of penetration and they're also the most accurate rockets in the entire game. Couple that with 2 x 20mm Hispano Cannons and 2 pretty decent bomb drops... this thing is INSANE!
There's just one problem... the only tank at this BR for Israel is the TCM-20 SPAA! That makes it a little bit of a struggle to actually spawn it in!
No problem for us, though! :)

The amount of times that OddBawZ says "Those were bad bombs" and then proceeds to land the bombs right on target and kill the enemy like almost every video that involves a plane with bombs and meanwhile im here sometimes unable to kill anything with an 800kg bomb multiple times in a row Also can you play the P-40F-5 Lafayette please perhaps together with the B1 Ter or something

These rockets are insanely accurate. I love my Weizman's in ground RB even at 6.7. It pops the Tigers and Pershings like fireworks, it's great!

Tbh most planes with rockets would be great IF Gaijin simply answered wtf the lines on rocket reticle are supposed to mean in terms of distance and dispersion. P.S.: thank God(and a lot of dedicated people) for custom player made reticles that are plane specific😅

The lines are actually ranging lines. From top to bottom they signify the rocket drop for the ranges 200m, 400m, 600m and 800m.

@@yoyolast6559 They are not. It's the same size marker for every plane and every rocket. The Tiny Tims for example fall below the the entire crosshair if you shoot at 100m and you'll blow yourself up.

@@OddBawZ Well, yeah, but for your average sized rockets like say HVARs it does range close enough. Obviously it doesn't account for the angle of approach and how far from the center of the aircraft the rocket is launched from but situationally with your average rocket it can be kindda used to range. Obviously I never do it either because it's hard to estimate range in ground RB anyways but that is technically what these lines are supposed to be.

My experience of CAS nowadays is either: 1.Fly within 4km of the battlefield and have an ostwind fire 2 rounds destroying my plane instantly, the guy has 5-7 plane kills with his ostwind already 2.get 2 kills with bombs and 50+"hit"s with 20mm cannons on a tiny zero/fw190/109/F6f and they don't take a single point of critical damage, they hit me with a single .50cal round and my plane is instantly "burned out"even though that shouldn't happen instantly 3.VERY rarely i actually survive and get 7 kills with bombs, 2 assists and 3 planes 90% of the time though it's the first with a blatant cheater on the enemy team in an ostwind or similar instantly sniping our planes out the sky right after we spawn -_- happened 10 games in a row tonight

Both of the BR 4.3 IAF planes are excellent planes for CAS in ground RB, as you can load them up with good mixed bomb/rocket loadouts. The Spitfire IX featured here, with its 2x 250lb bomb + 16x 8cm rocket loadout And the P-51D-20, with a 2x 500lb bomb + 6x AR (HVARs?) rocket loadout. Both are also still very viable to bring uptiered to your 6.0+ BRs, and indeed will be the only real options until you break into jet CAS with the Ouragan at BR 7.7.

I got my first (and so far only) nuke with this one. I managed to kill just one guy in M-51 and then I spawned in the spit.. got +- 9 ground kills, 5 air kills and few assist.. good one

I was very pleasantly surprised by the TCM. Aside from Mr. Gigachadberg showing his dome to everything with an MG, it's super easy to kill planes with and packs enough punch to kill light vehicles and quickly track/barrel heavier stuff it can't pen.

I am a german main, but the spitfire series are my favorite to fly. If you know how to fly it well you can be a very hard taget to shoot down. The Isreali one is the coolest spitfire imo

18:48 fuel explosions are lethal because those are inside the fighting compartment without any protective features for the crew, the lower the crews vitality the more damage they will take when unprotected fuel tank is detonated, that's why russian and chinese mbts die so often by fuel explosion

Hi, Odd! Hope you're well. I was thinking you might have fun making a video about the French Martin 167-A3. It's basically a bomber you can dogfight with in a pinch. It has 4 forward facing 7.5mm Brownings, a 7.7mm Vickers turret, it can carry 16 x 50kg bombs, has a turn time of 21.7 seconds, and all of that at 2.0 BR. It does compress a bit if you're not careful, but it's pretty nimble for a twin engine bomber even at lower speeds. It's also funny catching fighters off guard who don't expect you to start engaging them. Anyway, loved this Spitfire video! Cheers

Right before watching this I got 3 air to ground kills with my seafire, and 2 air to air kills before the game ended. The whole spitfamily is underrated for ground striking because you can pull up from a dive so fast

reason fuel detonation destroys the vehicles is because of the pressure wave (even though it's not that big) that damages components and the burning fuel that the crew is being drenched in, basically it creates a fireball inside the tank, and lets face it, even if the vehicle would be salvageable after that, the crew wouldn't be.

Hey Odd, you may want to drive the Turan 2 if you have it. It's a hungarian Pz 4 E, hungarian tanks never get any coverage, and I recommend the HEAT shells only for it. APHE has reserve tier penetration (44mm), and the HE has half the filler of the HEAT for some reason. And for that please fly the F.C. 20 Bis (tech tree). I am sure you will have a blast with that ground pounder plane. The gun is all you need at that BR, you got fiddies, and if you take the anti-ship A.P. 160 bombs, you got the best bombs (barely, but they are the best). It sure is my plane to fly if I want to unwind.

The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is.
