The truth is that within a year or two she will be the artist for the big occasions. and not a "bare belly plastic artist" who tops a list for a week and is forgotten just as quickly. She already eats most female vocalists for breakfast, and the label Republic Records and the rest of the music industry know that too! Angelina Jordan has nothing to prove. I agree that the song is definitely relatable, but as others have pointed out since it was released, Angelina can be very cryptic in her lyrics. The song, and others on her EP, may not even be about a personal relationship. It may reflect something else significant in her life such as her career or other. Then it takes on a whole new meaning! This is the second song off her EP, Old Enough. The EP appears to have some kind of a theme as you go from the beginning to the end. Here are the songs to react to... Great reaction Nick and welcome back. This EP "Old Enough" it's so intense and passionate, I still can't decide which song to prefer... but as usual with Angelina, the result is, all of them. She is absolutely stunning in her vocal talent and her technique is of one uniqueness so evident and so incredibly captivating and piercing! I love her fantastic ability to mix old and new in music, another of her amazing features. I listen to this EP almost every day, yet her voice still steals my soul, I love her music, her beautiful deep lyrics and the determined self-confidence achieved by Angelina. What a wonderful evolution of our little chrysalis over the past 10 years. And if consider you that this EP is only a part of the definitive LP that will probably be released in the last part of year and should contain 11/12 songs, imagine what more she could put in it! ❤🧡💛

You are right that Angelina's fans don't like to be compared to anyone for a very simple reason, her voice is unique. You cite Amy as a clear influence, mistake, her influences go back much further. Amy and Angie look like a fig to an apple, they are both fruits and grow on trees, that's where the coincidences end (IMHO).

When Angie recorded 'Back to Black', they sat her at the mixing board to listen to the result that they had previously manipulated to make her seem more adult, more 'Amy', and her expression when she heard it was quite a poem, then they played it without manipulation, and the smile returned to her face. By the way, my 'religious' feelings are solely and exclusively for my family, the rest doesn't keep me up at night. All the best.

Hi Nick, she is 17 years old here and in 2 months she will be 18, the whole EP is such a masterpiece, everything is original and so well written by her, I can only say she is outstanding and by far the best singer of this decade or Century and Diamond is an even bigger surprise I have never experienced in my entire life that an EP only contains number 1 songs, each of the 6 songs is a hit and grammy worthy I hope that Republic Records finally starts the promo engine and gets them on the radio and TV only played on KZbin is not enough. Was it Angelina’s crew or was it perhaps Republic Records who was causing trouble? Either way, that must have been stressful. The impression I sometimes get is when you are on YT’s shit list, it is hard to get it corrected, so here is for hoping! :-) Amy is certainly an influence of Angelina. Other influences are Adele, Billie H, Ella F, Frank S, Queen, Elvis and many others. She is all of those and 100% herself :-) The whole EP ‘Old Enough’ is just so good! I stream it on repeat a lot and it just doesn’t get old. The same goes for the song ‘Our Time’ which she released just the other week: a real banger.

Angelina's latest songs come in many flavors. The first couple of them have a very old-school sound but the songs on her new EP sound more modern as you go through the album culminating with "Diamond" which has a very modern R&B/Hip-Hop sound. Good that you're back reacting to Angelina, Nick! You might like to react to more from her EP. One of my favorites is Diamond. Jazz is always going to flavor everything she sings, unless it's a classical ballad like "Song for A" or "Every Time We Say Goodbye". I think people are reminded of Amy Winehouse because Angelina's voice has a similar rasp and of course both are hugely influenced by jazz. But AJ's voice is unique. If you listen to a back-to-back comparison, you can really hear quite a difference.

It's kind of her element yeah 😊 somewhere from here to pure R and B is where she is going so far to start her pro career. Super versatile though. So who knows if we get slower ballads, she's unreal at them, so I assume we do here and there. We don't know really, 9 songs into her pro career only, and the first two songs were years ago. Someone this versatile and incredible, with a musical feel for lots of styles, I mean I wouldn't put her anywhere for like 30 or 40 songs at least. Nice reaction thanks 😊Geez what a voice.

@@bignickofficial Well the EP kind of progresses through the 6 songs. I'd say track 4, All my fault, is pretty much R&B and a solid choice. After that 5 and 6 progress more up tempo, even towards pop, rap a bit. If you want a ballad the last two amazing ones to me were covers of "Suspicious Minds" and "You Say". But you could go back years yet, and most will ask you too. Real special what she did to folks as a kid. I think if you want to know where she's at, you stick with the EP for now. She said she's Soul/Pop meets R&B. Sounds about right to me.

Nick I think it’s more that Any and Angelina were both influenced by the early jazz greats such as Billie Holliday, Etta James etc..Angelina has covered three (I think) AW songs and adores her music but I’m pretty sure Angelina developed her voice listening to mostly Billie Holliday..indeed Angelina is quoted as saying “ if there were no Billie Holliday there’d be no Angelina Jordan.”

Loved your reaction, Nick. This track from the EP, in particular, really gives that Amy Winehouse vibe, but that's not really a bad thing in my book. Other tracks stray in different directions, she loves to experiment with mixing genres, and somehow gets away with it every time. My takeaway, though, is that every single track on that EP is awesome. As always, though, some are more awesome than others... For a truly different style, check out Diamond - an amazing track. No video (only visualizer), but still... it's so f**king good it's worth checking out and reacting to. It's regrettable that you had to remove your reaction to Bohemian Rhapsody. I assume it's because that was an AGT performance, from what I've heard it's rare to get blocks or takedown notices for performances by AJ. Still, it's so random that you were targeted... there are hundreds of reactions on KZbin to that performance...
