I really love the Kuru Toga Dive , it’s one of my Christmas wishes this upcoming season
Oh thank god they made the eraser normal size. The other kuritoga metal ones i have use the thin little black erasers. Not really good for the amount of mistakes i make😅
@Aereto4 ай бұрын
Can be complemented with a multi shape plastic eraser
@jamesharris51564 ай бұрын
If you’re using a high end pencil, it’s assumed you’ll also have a detached high quality eraser. Those tiny erasers are meant more as just a means to cap the lead chamber.
@Cheffamily3 ай бұрын
small erasers are useful for when you get one line of kanji wrong
@jamesharris51563 ай бұрын
@@Cheffamily Yeah they’re great for small writing corrections. Not so much for like art or technical drawing with lots of erasing.
@rona042723 күн бұрын
Finally someone says what these are actually built for. I always see the same “I like my pencils unevenly sharp it makes it look much better,” cool, they’re extremely useful for kanji. Especially when writing small, the self sharpening makes kanji legible and works best in this condition
@peppersteak973316 күн бұрын
my only gripe with the kuru toga is the lead/lead holder slightly shakes when im about to draw/write down, as an architecture student its a lil bit off for me since it kind of mess up my sense whether my pencil is actually touching my paper but its good for writing! if someone's out there thats looking for a mechanical pencil for drawing, look elsewhere, I've heard that the graph gear series is also good, but i use my rotring tikky for now since it came along with their technical pen set
@martin831313 күн бұрын
How do you deal with the line thickness varying? When I was learning to become a carpenter we’d have to do lots and lots of technical drawings / drafts and I’d have to hold my pencil awkwardly to have my 0,5mm lines actually be 0,5mm and not 0,7mm. I remember in one of my first drafts I was refused a full score because of the lines varying ±0,15mm and graphite marks from my sweaty fingers lol My sister is an architect and she told me that they did lots of drafts on paper in the first year and then mostly moved onto digital. Btw I really resonate with your tactile engagement with the pencil. My favourite mechanical pencil is the tombow zoom 707. It has a natural rubber handlegrip that feels unlike any other rubber grip and a purist/minimal design that offers such incredible tactility. Oh and the very tip or sleeve of the lead is so incredibly thin that you can use rulers etc. with very high accuracy more easily and satisfyingly.
@peppersteak973313 күн бұрын
@@martin8313 sorry i didn't clarified this immediately, but for the line variations, i had to use traditional pencils, and to get the actual thickness i have to sharpen them often (im nit-picky about it) i only use the kuru toga for sketches, but my rotring tikky, i use them to draw my guidelines in my drafts, i keep them whenever my prof ordered us to, but i don't really get remarks about it, so for drafts that require precise line variations, i suggest sticking to the normal pencils, although its annoying to switch between the graphite grades and sharpen them, it feels awesome to use one lol! the downside is just, u have to sharpen them from time to time.

They ate with this, but idk how hard it is to come out with a Japanese-made rotring 600 knockoff that uses the kuru toga mechanism. I’d pay $200 for that as an engineering student. There’s something about this one that tells me I probably won’t have it for more than a year
