I expect this is dual marketing - the Lego people hoping some hardcore D&D fans will buy the set, and the D&D Beyond people hoping some hardcore Lego fans will buy the rule books. I’m not into Legos, so no way I’m buying that set - but I already own the D&D books and have downloaded the Lego module, so why not play it? Because I do want to play, I had to stop watching your video when you started discussing game mechanics, but I gave it a like and will finish after I’ve played.

I just finished the actual play with Ginny Di et al, and I think they struck a good balance between neat surprises and general use things for people to use in their games. I hope they make more things in the D&D line with broader utility, like some licensed Forgotten Realms locations. Or dear god, can you imagine Lego X Ravenloft? If you thought NAVIGATING the castle was confusing

Interestingly enough, the actual play video has the "for kids" setting on, so no comments or embeds. Might just be the Lego channel in general, but yeah, mixed signals on who's in the target demo

Kids arent buying this set. Their parents may let them play with it. 18+ lego is marketed to 18+, not nec linked to difficulty. I only played dnd about 5x about age 10, but am very into lego. I love this set and it does make me maybe want look into rpg. Started investigating dnd but some things going on seem off putting. May try BG3 tho still considering. May run the set adventure for my kids or other family members.

Nowadays Lego isn't only for kids, there are many sets geared especially towards adults, like this set. Its $360 The set is also geared towards medieval/fantasy fans 3:40 unfortunately also the physical campaign book is hard to get. It didn't come with the set, and its not widely available to buy. Its exclusive to the Lego insiders rewards center, and first you have to spend a few hundred dollars to get enough points to get it. Wow I should be surprised they set you up to buy the books but I’m not really . It’s WotC. Ya the price point is crazy if you ask me. Does not sound like a good adventure.

It's a perfect set because it overlaps two target demographics of people who are pro consoomers who will buy absolutely anything at any price range and do not *care* if it meets any quality standards, because it's more product from the thing that they like to consume.
