These are sooo good! I love your Mac & Cheese top, when you were talking about what to put with it all I could think of was your bold skirt suit you made a few years ago with ALL the colours in it! Even with either just the skirt with your mules or the top and jacket with your white jeans!!! That dress though, how are you going to pack for Italy when all these things will go great for traveling? Don't you have a blue Metra too? Here's an idea for fall and winter, make the Lenox out of feather weight cord without sleeves to wear with turtle or mock neck sweaters with a thin belt, your tights and boots ??? I just happen to have a brown/burgundy featherweight cord!!

That is such a great idea! It would make a great pinafore style dress!

I fell instantly in love when I saw the LN Newsletter. And ironically, I’ve been planning to hack a sweetheart neckline on both the Cashmerette Montrose and Concord when I’m convinced I have the fit nailed.

This was such an easy and smart way to do a sweetheart neckline. I think it would be easy to hack onto other tops as well!

Stof is in Denmark. Fabulous fabric, I use it when I can get it. Love your dress, I will definitely buy this pattern for the neckline. Love it. I have pulled the thread out of my serger tension discs when removing the cover a few times. I have to check each time now, it's easily done.

The dress appears to have a 1 1/4" band at the waistline, which is just the print actually, but would be great in reality with ribbon or an actual band of fabric. Very nice.
@TomKatStitchery
@TomKatStitchery Жыл бұрын
You're right! The print does make it appear there is a band, but that would be a fun addition!

Thanks for all your videos and inspiration. One thing I am struggling with in your new filming studio is how far back you are from the camera. Can you move closer to the camera? It would also help with the sound I’m sure. I noticed that there is a lot of white space above your head and on either side of you, so if you lowered the camera a bit and moved it closer you could still have the same part of your body and mannequins showing but we would be able to see more details and less empty space.

I also love your dress fabric. And knowing that you thought the pictures came from Japan gave me an idea. is there a company that would take pictures and make the fabric? My daughter just got back from tokyo and has some gorgeous pictures. A fun present from me would be fabric from her pictures!! And my sister just returned from New Zealand, Australia and Figi with some absolutely beautiful pictures. Love the idea of personalizing the fabric.

I think you could probably make your own print with pictures with Spoonflower! I'm planning on having my daughter draw up a design for us to turn into fabric and then I'm going to make her a dress out of it. We're going to use Spoonflower for that!
@sharonnickels2788

@@TomKatStitchery Spoonflower was the only place I thought could do that. Just didn't know if there was anyplace else. Also, fabric your daughter designs will be so special.

I need to learn to use my different sewing machines the way you have! Still have never used my coverstitch machine. 😏 I'm actually afraid of it. 😢

Many, many years ago I bought a new sewing machine, and loved it, but wouldn’t sew button holes because I didn’t want to be disappointed. My husband, who didn’t sew, laughed at me, and sewed a buttonhole. So I made some too. I was even more thrilled with the machine!

You do need to try it out! The overstitch does have a bit of a learning curve, but it's so good once you get it!

The only time I have sewn with knits has been in your fitting class 😀 so I’m very interested in how you sew knits. Thanks for showing the inside. Did you sew the top completely on the serger (except for the cover stitch part)? I recently have gotten my first serger and I’m scared to sew on it. I use it to finish seams only. Love this pattern, you have sold it well.
@denisedorsey2889

Don’t be frightened to sew with your serger. Give it a go! Game changer.
@TomKatStitchery

I did sew this up mostly on the serger. I use my machine for a couple of the fiddly bits on the neckline, but the rest was all on the serger!

@@TomKatStitchery Thanks for responding. I bought the pattern and a couple other pant patterns also since I actually have more confidence in making pants since taking your class. I’ve decided I’m not thrilled with elastic waist pants (even though they are very comfy) and prefer more fitted pants. Your class was (is) wonderful. One of my biggest “takes” is to not overfit.
@TomKatStitchery

@@sibyllolson3237 I’m so glad you enjoyed the class! I’m also so glad you’re going to attempt more pants!!! Learning the type of waistbands you like is fabulous as well!

Have you ever considered having the copy shop files printed for you? I use PDFPlotting.com and they will print them on newsprint, which is lovely. They area also really economical. Staples, Office Depot and other such stores charge a fortune to print these patterns, but PDFPlotting.com is very reasonable.

are these pdf downloads full-size copies the site says it won't accept at home size for at home printers
@TomKatStitchery
@TomKatStitchery Жыл бұрын
@@potternana3303 the patterns come with a couple of files. One is the file you can print at home, another is the copy shop file, and the third is a projector file. The copy shop file is the one you send to the printer and it prints off the large sheets (like a printed pattern). As long as you send in the correct file (it’s labeled copy shop) you should be good!
