Moved back to Lafayette, LA in 2021 after 20 years in Florida. The amount of liter I see in my neighborhood and on my route to work makes me want to move away. I call the local 311 to report liter & it only grows worse. It’s very disheartening. Why would anyone want to relocate to such a trashy place? And apparently there’s no way to hold people accountable if they liter. You can only take them to court. There are cameras everywhere, but they can’t be used to hold citizens accountable for throwing trash on the ground. $91 million spent to clean up after litterbugs who aren’t held accountable? Sounds senseless to me.

Thanks LSU for studying this iss, but I hope beyond studying this issue, the issue gets solved.
