My mom is 72 and she was told that she doesn’t need to see an OBgyn???? I’m trying to advocate for her to start estrogen cream to address urinary issues and other issues in that area. I’m on a mission for myself too! So by learning to take care of me, I’m going to make sure my mom is taken cared of as well! Dr. Haver, so glad I found you! I’m on Alloy now too!

When you say you follow the NAMS does that mean you don’t prescribe HRT for women over 60? Or do they have new guidelines.
@myalloy7 ай бұрын
Hi! According to NAMS, now called the Menopause Society, while it’s ideal to start within 10 years of your last period, there is no arbitrary age cut-off. We recommend speaking to a menopause-trained doctor to help find the best option for you. We can help at Alloy!

HA! I went to a NAMS doctor this week! She brow beat me with her statins and anti depressant! She LITERALLY said I won’t go get your hormone panel until you address your high cholesterol and an anti depressant! I’m weeping because I’m so DAMN tired because I’m Depleted! I’m not depressed! She wasn’t aware that menopause elevates cholesterol!! I picked up my purse and left with my labs! Yep, In the BASEMENT! NAMS IS A SCAM!!! Doesn’t mean SHIT

I tried the cream and the patch Estrogen.Also tried Vaginal cream and it never absorbs into my body, It just stayed there in my Vagina. Which was gross lol . The cream or the Patch made my blood pressure go really high, I felt like I was jumping out of my skin. I was just starting to feel it work too. I was doing both at the time so I'm not sure if one is different then the other in regards to side effects? Is this normal to have happened? I'm just so lost and want to feel like me again.

Pellets?
@myalloy7 ай бұрын
Hi! Currently, we are focused on prescribing estradiol in pill, patch, gel, and spray form. It's less invasive, easier to use, and easier to monitor compared to pellets! We follow the guidelines outlined by The Menopause Society, and pellets are specifically not recommended.
@iss85045 ай бұрын
Pellets are out of pocket and zero ability to control. It's hard to get dosing right esp if in perimenopause and your hormones are swinging up and down. A pellet is not adjustable.
