After watching this, I changed my mind about Saintontas. The inability to entertain any idea which goes against his worldview borderlines on religious extremism. In one of his videos, he argued that "people are spoiled/entitled, and should just be grateful for the game". I thought "spicy take, especially for someone who is constantly praising kuro games for being less predatory than their competition". But then he used a disgusting argument just to make his point "the opinion of free-to-play players doesn't matter AT ALL". This was the first time I thought "this person will say anything just to win an argument, even if it means contradicting himself".

Calling someone a shill or a bot is just a thought terminating cliche, it's a lot easier to just call someone's arguments stupid or ridiculous without actually trying to engage with a point. Some of the comments under Vars' recent video on teambuilding in Wuwa are a prime example, there were reasonable comments who disagreed with his conclusion that the current state of teambuilding in WuWa is an issue and stated why they prefer it that way. Then there were others who just resorted to calling Vars' stupid, illogical, contradictory, etc while not actually engaging with the overall argument. It is infuriating at times.

This was the same for me during those times where I "barely" make it. But when I learned funneling and when my account could do the Abyss with around 1 min excess, I learned to preserve the energy for the next battle especially when I bring in burst reliant team. It became a habit that helped me immensely. Tbf, Eula really did need to end with her burst because that was the "kill" for her, unless you can finish the fight comfortably on time with just normal attack or skills. Yae can be reliable even with her skill alone so ulting with her before the end is okay. But for characters that are heavy on bursts, you have to preserve the energy especially if you "barely" make it. -I stopped playing GI the first time Furina came out so I don't know if the Abyss changed a lot, all these are before Furina-

Okay from what i understand so far (im at 1:40:34 in the vid), smack's argument for why Spiral abyss worked so well for Genshin was that right from the jump you start at 100% power (im gonna say 100% or close to it, there are characters in the game that have to build stacks of some sort or need requirements to be met before they truly achieve 100% power, the hutao point in the vid is an example of this BUT it does not discredit or change smack's opinion, it just means he probably wont find hutao fun) and that this then allows you to go through rotations and play at the highest efficiency, and that makes Spiral abyss fun FOR HIM. What i reason from this is the spiral abyss format is not tailored to games where characters essentially need a prep phase because spiral abyss is timed, in Wuwa because you need time to build up character gauges etc you're effectively punished for prepping, for playing the game, maybe that's why it feels off to him? Anyway, I think any counter argument against this has to come from a few angles: 1. Either you agree that a spiral abyss style game mode needs to start you off from a position where you can achieve max gameplay efficiency (to which Genshins method of doing that is to give you your ults) and think that max gameplay efficiency in wuwa can be achieved even without forte gauges being full at the start 2. You disagree entirely with his opinion at a base level and you believe you can still have fun even without being able to achieve max gameplay efficiency straight from the jump - In this case you're opinion is just different from his which is fair 3. You believe gameplay fluidity is not hampered at all by not having forte gauges maxed out from the jump Anything else is missing the point of his opinion/argument Edit: i just remembered how to play hutao, that commenter is lying out they teeth, she literally presses 1 button (skill) and is instantly at full power. and the skill button is available from the jump, so hutao isnt even a good example of this. Someone like Raiden would work SLIGHTLY better, she does have her ult off drop but it wont be maxed since she needs other teammates to use their ults first to give her damage boosts and even THEN the other teammates already start with their ults so technically you could say even in a raiden team you start off drop with everything you need ready. I also just thought of a bit of a nitpicky counter point: In Wuwa you start off with everything you need to build concerto etc at the ready, which means the rotation for building those gauges IS fluid and efficient, so im sorta back at trying to understand what the true crux of Smack's opinion is. Maybe its as simple as its more fun when you can start popping cool animations and feeling impactful right from the get go? maybe the process of building concerto and forte gauges isnt all that satisfying to him? Edit 2: Just understood something else, starting of at 100% might not be the best way to describe smacks point, based on his Shorekeeper auto comment at 1:47:38, I think what matters most in his opinion is how quickly you can get into MEANINGFUL combat. With Furina in genshin, you do require hp drain to get her going but the way you do that is by utilizing parts of her kit which are not redundant. WIth Shorekeeper you have to build her gauge using redundant autos, as opposed to something else that adds value to the team's rotation for example the actions of other characters

Thanks for this comment. Personally I don't agree with some of Smack's points because figuring out efficient ramp up in rotations while fighting the boss is part of the challenge of TOA. But I do agree with the overall point that TOA does not feel well suited for WuWa's endgame, other game modes like holo bosses and illusive realm feel far more fulfilling to me but that might be due to having different considerations in how you play than TOA. Small point I have are people in the comments pretending TOA is this super complex game mode, where you need pinpoint decision making to succeed, when really it's like HSR endgame, having decent characters/ teams, some sigs and a basic comprehension of character kits and rotations is more than enough to get you through even the hazard zone. Overdrive ZOne is more of a challenge and even that can be overcome with slightly better builds.

TL;DR: I cleared the TOA today, and my perspective has shifted a bit. Initially, I agreed with Smack's take on changing the TOA. However, after experiencing the loss and the challenge it posed, I now feel it’s more about skill-and for those with the resources who still struggle, it might be a matter of optimization. As an F2P player since launch, I’ve realized Saint had a point: tweaking your characters and calculating their usage can be enjoyable. I cleared the TOA using Havoc Rover, Danjin, Sanhua, Shorekeeper, Verina, Yao Yinlin, and Changli. I skipped Jinshi for Changli, and honestly, I find standard characters more fun. This shows that you don’t necessarily need limited characters to beat the hardest content in the game. That said, I still believe TOA is good as it is. For some players, reducing the HP sponge mechanic and making enemies more aggressive could improve the experience. Ultimately, it’s subjective and varies from player to player.

I think the point of Smack's video is that the end game of WuWa is ToA. ToA is more of a concept of Spiral Abyss where there isn't forte, intro, outro, etc. What if WuWa created a system of THEIR OWN that literally and objectively revolves around WuWa mechanics (dodging, parry, intro, outro, forte, etc.) and instead focus on that as their end game and not just Hologram fights outside of the ToA? Maybe make Hologram Abyss where in all will revolve around the incentives of parry, dodge or something with the rewards revolving around the outro, intro or forte because that is more of an end game designed for WuWa mechanics. Maybe adjust in in a way where characters like ChangLi (don't play anymore so don't know her, only based on what they said) won't be OP.

I watched that video and I admit I fell for a lot of the conspiracy theories, but like after 2 days of research and hearing out other CCs it kinda just became obvious how baseless the accusations were. I also find it funny how his fans treat him like he is the most objective CC when it comes to arguments, when he routinely strawmans and misleads people about arguments. So something I kinda find weird about a lot of comments is that some claim that Smack has a skill issue because he does not like the end game for Wuwa, but has Smack ever claimed to not have completed TOA. For context, I agree that with TOA just doesn't feel great, it's not bad but I don't come away from it feeling much of anything. I have been maxing crests in TOA since 1.2 and it was a skill issue up until that point, and I have also beaten most of the holo bosses on diff 6 except Thundering Mephis and Inferno Rider so I think I know enough to know where I stand on the game. It just kinda feels like unless you beat everything in the game perfectly with powerful builds and perfect rotations, people who do like it just want to believe that you suck and that's why you are complaining. Rather than the alternative of you can be good enough at a game, and still say I don't XYZ about the difficulty.

Saintontas is exaggerated and rushes too much, but to say that Fobmaster and Jenazad were fair to him in Gacha Cast is a little weird. The point is, Genshin's Abyss didn't invent the wheel, this aspect of fighting against time has always existed in these types of games, I wouldn't say it's a problem with Wuthering Waves but rather with the game mode itself, people don't like fighting against time, but there are those who like it or don't care, so I don't think there's much to say about it, unless of course it's our only game mode like Genshin was for so many years. In one of your last videos you included Wuthering Waves in the problem of story presentation in gachas, I don't think that was fair, you may not like the story but it's unfair to say that its presentation is the same as Genshin and Honkai Star Rail. I don't think it's a little better than those two in that regard, I think it's much better. Wuthering Waves has only improved with each patch but people just like to look for flaws or even invent them, I believe this is the problem that Saintontas tries to express but ends up failing, because of the relevant amount of people who like to talk bad about the game he ends up generalizing people too much and especially content creators which is a mistake. (English is not my first language)
