Thats why we "complain" still about being 5-1. We are mentally preparing ourselves for the other foot to fall because that's all we knew for decades, and Elway/Manning had a huge part in that. Last year as a hawks fan I was just wanting revenge and not to be embarrassed. That grew to hope for a decent draft pick. Which became hope for a damn nice pick… which happened. Now I just kinda feel bad.

Dude... as a Chiefs fan I am very aware of our past pain...hope you remember how much pain you all inflicted on us (I do). You will be back in the fold soon. I have missed the KC defense of the 90's but we got used to crazy exciting offense over the past 5 years. Keep your sense of humor about it all...keep up the good channel.

So last year I was absolutely fascinated with the abysmal play of the Broncos, mostly because as a Seattle fan, it directly benefited us in the draft. This year is somehow worse and I'm wondering exactly where rock bottom is for these guys (and no, not the restaurant...assuming it still exists)

As a life long Chiefs fan, we experienced what Denver is going through up until the past few years. There's still room for criticism, win or lose. Reid is notorious for conservative stupid play calling and time management. We get frustrated playing down to lesser opponents and keeping the game closer than it should be, whereas Reid doesn't care about keeping it a 1 point game till the very end. We should be undefeated but look at our opener against the lions. Perfect example of playing down and doing everything wrong that you can to beat yourself, 21-20 loss. Last week's game, put up 42 points in first half, Reid puts in 2nd and 3rd string to play the rest of the game. So yea, we got things that upset and piss us off too that are justified. I never thought I'd see my Chiefs be as good as they are now and I'm grateful for that, but I still criticize them for stupidity and poor decisions regardless of their record.

QB wise, I remember the Elway days and wishing we had a QB like that. It makes a hell of a difference. Elway had a 17-12 career record with us but he also made 5 Superbowls and won 3 of them. We had a bit of hope in the 90s when we got Joe Montana at the end of his career in the late 90s, and he could only get us to playoffs, which was a big surprise but not very deep into the playoffs, nowhere near the SB. But that's the NFL for you, it's a cycle and team building makes all the difference under the salary cap and player limit. Years of rebuilding and luck with lots of hard work between have gotten us to where we're at. The cycle will continue, as designed and every team will eventually have their time.
