A bit off topic, but I don’t think Liko looked dumb for not knowing Dot was Nidothing. I can imagine the initial disbelief of someone who you’re a fan of that’s popular across Paldea and Kanto that never shows their face is in a flying airship you also manage to be on. Like it’s obvious in the context of a show, but in real life you’d also assume the crazy shut-in likes cosplay.

@@phantomslay5612Yeah I get that, but we're nearly 40 episodes in, and they still rely on Friede so much. They stated at the beginning of the series they wanted to grow stronger, but so far they don't have many battles and rarely use their other Pokémon.

@@thesurp72520 and the few battles they have had they haven't gotten a lot of wins Yeah Liko has beaten Roy once early on and some admin's golduck but she also forfeited against a trainer she could have beaten and couldn't even handle some petty thug who is hardly a threat. For someone with more brains between them she sure is not using them enough Roy though, is SUPER weak. He lost to Brassius, Kabu, the same thug I mentioned before. Basically he hasn't beaten a lot of people besides maybe one grunt in Galar

Horizons is a better version of journeys, I'm glad galar finally got an important focus, and paldea isn't being sidelined, and it's not the typical, 8 badges, loses league thing like ash. I'm kind of surprised they managed to make a female protagonist without making her plotline either just ash's or may/dawn/serena's. I'm mainly concerned about liko and roy not catching many pokemon, ash would have like 3+ at this point.

This is a slow build up story and it seems like after there starters the pattern is ether liko, roy or dot will get a new Pokémon every time they go to a new region they could pick up the pace later. Would love for roy and liko to get plusel and minun because they match their colors and dot to get ditto would be so helpful for her livestreams. I do think liko, roy, dot and amethio possibly Anne as well will have a full team of 6 at the end of the series. With the other RVT/explorers they could have a full team or only have 3 or 4 Pokémon definitely with how small the airship is like the air balloon takes up most of the space and so far Friede doesn’t seem to own a lab, park, ranch or farm to put other Pokémon would be nice if he does.

The Friede and Cap origin story is easily in my top 5 favorite Pokemon episodes of all time. If Horizons continues following the path that it's on, it has a really good chance of being the best Pokemon series yet.

I am enjoying the series so far but I hope it becomes so much more than what it is currently. The series started off great but the story feels a little bit dragged out for me until the most recent episodes in which the series has gained a bit of direction. I hope Roy and Liko use their other pokemon more often because seeing Sprigatito use a big leafage and seeing Fuecoco use flamethower and stomping tantrum a million times isnt interesting to watch.

Secondarily, I can relate to Liko, a character who's unsure about her future and has trouble with talking to new people, more than Ash, who abandons all logic (on occasion) and goes with his guts. I'm not saying Liko is objectively better than Ash per se. Moreso, I am just expressing my personal opinion on these fictional characters in this fictional universe within this fictional anime.

Big gripe I had is that it takes forever for sprigatito to learn new moves. Fuecoco is stacked with flamethrower, stomping tantrum, and disarming voice, but sprigatito really only learned quick attack. Then around ep40 it finally learns a new grass move, but it's just magical leaf, a bit stronger version of leafage

I just realised that Roy is just like Goh, not knowing what kind of adventure he’ll begin until Mew went in the scene and for Roy he always wanted to go on an adventure but don’t know what to do until the rayquaza just jumped in the scene and Roy then knew what to do (has anyone else noticed that?)

The biggest problem with this series is Liko and Roy rely on Friede too much, like i get they aren't ash but man they really need to learn how to fight for themselves, also ffs use more then your starter pokemon guys, their secondary mons get like no battles man :/

Tbf, Ash didn't net much notable wins at the beginning of the OG saga, but I too agree that our MCs will eventually have to stand on their own feet. We don't see OG Ash having to constantly rely on Brock or Misty for help.

I guess Roy is getting more character development because they don't want him to be overshadowed by Liko as the other companions felt in the previous series with Ash always in the spotlight. The creators probably took notes from some of the fans by having all the secondary characters be developed..... I might be mistaken but was it you that were having problems with Ash stories always pushing the secondary characters aside😂 lol.

All of this, on top of his other unmentioned content, likely takes a lot of time to get finished. I honestly hate the Kabu episode just for the ending alone. We can clearly see the apprentice that I totally didn't forget the name of is upset because Liko kinda just, didn't try instead of letting her prove herself. That is because its not the main focus of this show is treasure hunting unlike ash era where the main focus was battling they made that pretty clear. Although it won’t hurt them to have their main focus on treasure hunting and they do a multi school tournament with only students it would be a tag team or team tournament nothing solo got enough of that with ash as their side thing and its structured like the PWC but better normal is 1v1, great 2v2, ultra 4v4, master 6v6. Like all the other RVT has something else they do besides being treasure hunters friede professor/pilot, Murdock cook, orla fix the ship, mollie nurse, dot livestream and ludlow sailor/fisherman.

@@eljordinio7647 There main focus will be treasure hunting that is not changing but they do need to do some focus on battling/training like it seems dot is going to battle iono for a livestream soon but I don’t get why they aren’t battling/training with friede and the other adults more then they have. Definitely if the writers keep having them say they want to be better trainers the adults should be mentors to the kids. I know I’m not the only one that would love Murdock and dot having a tag battle against friede and liko or the many other combination of battles they could do just on the ship with the crew.

So far Horizons is already doing a better job than Journeys, and most of the Ash saga combined

Horizons is also mathematically better than all of Ash’s series up to their 34 episode marks based on LTZ’s ratings. We are just going to have to see if DP can overtake HZ with EP35. HZ35 needs a 6 or better to stay on top. If it is a 5, the averages are tied, but DP wins based on tiebreaker, as the difference between the highest rating and the lowest one is smaller for the Sinnoh saga (DP’s 9-4 vs HZ’s 10-3)
