I remember when pokemon rom hacks were almost exclusively gbc games. I loved pokemon brown, and grinded my levels to death for TRE. I remember the early rom scene having so many poorly translated projects, like vietnamese crystal, or pokemon orange islands I think? Those were the ones I usually skipped out on. OG OG, I didnt even have an emulator. I played my rom hacks on a webpage that wouldn't save my progress, so the tab was ALWAYS open until I finished a game. Wish I could remember the websites name.

FOR THE RECOND, the rom hack in this video is Pseurae’s Snakewood Improved, which (to my knowledge) is NOT affiliated with Cutlerine at all. As far as I’m aware, no one has heard from Cutlerine in about 12 years. Or at the very least, not under the username Cutlerine. In other words: THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL UPDATE. It is a patch someone ELSE made as a personal project, not an “update”.

A lot of people give Snakewood shit, but I personally enjoyed the rom hack with all its quirky and edgy gags. It didnt take itself to seriously, and sometimes you need a good ragebait (Nappy's Nuzlocke run of it was great.) Glad to see its not long forgotten.

For the first kingmadio, I just spammed it with leech seed and poison status since it won’t just go down. But by the time you get to the champion, put beat up on one of your pokemon and use it against the champions kingmadio, it’ll phase through the wonder guard and possibly one-shot it. Edit: By the way, you can get beat up in the university in fortree if you didn’t know already

I recall getting though a good portion of it, but sorta quit around an area where every trainer has lvl 80 Poke'mon which used Hyper potions if you didn't take out 1/3 of their final HP in a single attack at a time where most attacks didn't seem to do that. But I remember thinking it was weird and interesting seeing the Electric Monster World characters there because I know a friend whom bought what he thought was Poke'mon and was instead one of these games. lol. Also yeah the killer robot is a good fakemon XD Might try the update...

How old are you, just out of curiosity? It's always so bizarre to me that I consistently see people that are like 18-23 reminiscing about things that only happened 10 or so years ago. I know time feels different the younger/older you are. It's just interesting to me. It's an almost universally older adult thing to reminisce about things in an almost forgone way, so I see why it kind of leads to that. Nostalgia can happen at almost any age, too, so I'm not trying to gatekeep that or anything. It's just kind of funny to me, I guess, as someone who on their way to being 40 in a few years. I'm actually getting to a point in my life where things genuinely feel very different all around compared to when I was younger. It's not a mid-life crisis or anything... it's a point in your 30s where you start realizing what your older family members felt in that "everything" has changed so much, and only things you're nostalgic about are "good," haha. (This isn't true, and tons of different generations like new things, but you know what I mean) I look back on things from ten years ago and think, "Huh, that doesn't seem like that long ago at all. Then again, I haven't crapped in two weeks because I forgot to take my fiber meds, and that doesn't feel all that long, either." 😂 Getting old sucks, bro. Enjoy being a younger adult. Eat lots of fiber. You'll thank yourself in another ten years.
