It definitely looks like an improvement on the previous model. I have the previous model and mine has started to grind a bit with heavier weights. I've been using your Angles 90 hack you had in a previous video and it helps a lot with being able to hold myself in place. I find I can't reach the handles without holding a crunch. I wish they would have made the bottom safety adjustable. I like to go deep, but find I don't really have a usable safety when I do. I keep thinking about selling mine and buying a pendulum squat.

I purchased the lat-pull-down machine and unfortunately was missing 2 boxes of the weighted plates/stickers for it also the "powertec" sign was missing the screw adapters all on one column so It's not secured down properly and finally a plastic piece from the knee adjustment part was broken....parts come in this Saturday , hoping everything is there and I can use my new machine. The packaging was top notch I will say with no sign of damage to the boxes with wrap all around securing the boxes but maybe powertec could use a better quality control check before parts going out. @@MedStopPharmacy thank you. The advantage to one of the combo machines is increased variety; although, some of them lack a full ROM and the footplates are too small for a variety of foot positions. Glad to see they updated the machine but I’m disappointed that they didn’t seem to do anything about the range of motion. I had one of these and returned it because the ROM was subpar. I don’t know why they are still welding the bottom stops onto the catch bar. They should allow you to set the depth of the press all the way to the bottom if you’d like. Unfortunately, it’s just not worth the money if you have to use yoga pads to get deep enough.

Nice review as always buddy. So the big question as I see it, is... what are you getting for the extra money from the new leg press over the new leg press attachment? Not having tried either of the new machines, I am assuming we have a greater weight loading potential from the dedicated machine over the attachment? Or do you think the way the attachment takes less weight to really load the quads, the new 400lb capacity is also enough for most people not to be able to max out with reps? One example to put what I am talking about is... I can just about max out a 138kg (300lb) stack on a hammer strength leg extension at the gym (on a so called 1:1 ratio), yet on my body solid G6B at home I can only manage 120lbs (on a 1:2 ratio) under the same HIT conditions. The Leg ex. Powertec attachment is also nice for both exercises, but easy to max out on the 90-100kg (200lb) weight loaded post. To note..The G6B is a fantastic and convenient cable leg ex that does take a 10mm gym pin well enough. All things considered and to confirm my question, If both Powertec Leg press machines here in question cannot be easily maxed out, what are you getting for spending the extra investment in the leg press machine over the attachment? Or is it a case that the attachment is easier to max out?
@HomeGymHacksandReviews7 ай бұрын
Hey. Thank you. Convenience is one of the big differences. While I have two attachment tubes (one on the Multipress and one on the FID Bench), most people likely only have one attachment tube. So, there will be the need to connect and disconnect LPA if using any of the other attachments or if someone is using the FID Bench for dumbbells and barbell work. Also, LPA is more of a horizontal press while LP is a true 45 degree leg press with a 1,000 pound max weight capacity. I can max out LPA for a rep or two, but 600 pounds is likely as heavy as I’ll need to go on the LP. Also, I’ve seen some people who have only enough space for the Multisystem in a spare room in their house and the LPA is the only additional leg machine they have room for.
@johnpain83807 ай бұрын
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews Thanks for clearing that up HGHR! I agree about the multi system. I have mine in the center of the room, and although I can plug in and use all other attachments in to the multi press part of the multi system, I could not quite get the LP attachment to stretch out fully without hitting the wall. Luckily like you I also have the FID bench from the lever gym. I agree that having a second plug in for the Powertec attachments opens up a lot more options if or when needed. As a side note, the plug in part on the Lat/ab station on the multi system is set higher and tends to fit the preacher and leg ex. in particular to a better height, in my opinion. I would love to see you review the multi system one day if ever you do logistically get the chance to set one up in your gym, as you are the man who would surely come up with some great hack as per always. Thanks again for taking the time to answer my question about the leg press as I was curious. Cheers.

But I like you i have my personal first choices in the current set up, having to give way to the other pieces only out of necessity. I am very grateful to be so fortunate to have the space for such a home gym, as this has not always been the case for me. To read that you may one day review the multi system is fantastic news to me, as I know you would probably find a bunch of self made improvements for the system! I think the lat station on the whole is under reviewed and under rated despite the handles being only so so. Cobra grips or shortened length angles 90's are my remedy for that. An yo even out your feet at the curvy top part ?
@thomaspham-qf4ry6 ай бұрын
Hii please help me get this answer I was wondering if I buy the new one and if I buy the old one can I use the new one and switch the new diamond plate for the old one so I have the new version but I only keep the old flat diamond ? Can I do that since you have both do you know if I can do that
@HomeGymHacksandReviews6 ай бұрын
I am sorry. I don’t know for certain. I will say, I like this plate better than the old one. Also, for quads, a lower foot placement is better, which is the foot placement I predominantly use on this machine. However, I find the highest foot placement on the new platform with the tip of my shoe pushing against the lip a better leg press than a high foot placement on the old platform. Powertec may be able to answer your question with certainty, but I honestly think the new plate is better.

@@thomaspham-qf4ry yes. It sounds like your dorsiflexion needs work (as does mine). When I take my feet slightly below the bend in the platform, my heels stay planted pretty well.

What is the maximum hieght of someone who would use the compact leg sled?
@HomeGymHacksandReviews7 ай бұрын
I am not entirely sure. Powertec regularly features an athlete who is 6’3” using their equipment. For me, I am on the middle safety and I am 5’9” The safety that’s higher than the one I use should easily accommodate someone who is taller than 6’

I have one and I am 6ft3 and there plenty of space left on the range of movement for me. This is the best leg machine I have for sure. I can easily do calf raises on the calf block and still not hit the limiter.

The Powertec is the Best Leg Press machine within this price range and it is the best value of all Leg Press machines. You are the King of hacks, you do love your hacks Surprised me to know you like the Leg Press when it has been noted by Scientists and everyone how bad they are for lower backs, to the point where most Bodybuilders even Mentzer said they are a terrible machine to use.
@HomeGymHacksandReviews7 ай бұрын
Good to hear you say that BH. With my hack, I am willing to guarantee it’s lower back friendly. If not, I’d be in a world of hurt because my back is very sensitive.

For most people, I recommend the Leg Press because of its higher weight capacity, but I like the Sled better. Close to the end of the video, I address this topic in more depth.

@@HomeGymHacksandReviews how tight did you tighten screws ?
@HomeGymHacksandReviews6 ай бұрын
@@thomaspham-qf4ry tight, but not as hard as I possibly could. When most people have issues assembling the leg press, it’s because the top horizontal bar is not completely tight. Also, as I mentioned in this video, make sure the Powertec sticker on the back vertical bar is facing out.

@HomeGymHacksandReviews6 ай бұрын
@@thomaspham-qf4ry I’ve had 3 of them and never had an issue. My very first one I thought there was an issue, but it turned out to be an assembly error on the top horizontal bar not being secured into the guide rods and uprights properly. As soon as I tightened the bolts that secure into the guide rods, everything was perfect.

I absolutely disagree with you when it comes to not being able to train the hamstrings/glutes on a leg press machine. If you widen your feet and place them slightly outwards and very high on the platform (toes may even extend above the platform), you will definitely train your hamstrings and glutes!
