This is what access could look like for the hundreds of thousands of women who seek abortions every year now that Roe v. Wade has been overturned. It's expected that 26 states will ban abortion in the coming months. In Texas women have already been living under a partial abortion ban for the past 9 months.

This story is the result of a collaboration between the Austin American-Statesman and USA TODAY for the purpose of producing the first episode in the new series "States of America." The last names of the subjects were not used at the request of those featured because of the personal nature of their choices. They never make demands of you; they are morally uncomplicated, unlike orphans, they don't need money, education, or childcare; they allow you to feel good about yourself without any work at creating or maintaining relationships; and when they are born, you can forget about them, because they cease to be unborn. It's almost as if, by being born, they have died to you. You can love the unborn and advocate for them without substantially challenging your own wealth, power, or privilege, without re-imagining social structures, apologizing, or making reparations to anyone. They are, in short, the perfect people to love if you want to claim you love Jesus but actually dislike people who breathe.

Our inflation is in mid-range compared to the rest of the world where are in the bottom 20% for what people are paying for a gallon of gas. When you throw buckets of money at an economy and shut it down at the same time there is always going to be a brutal recovery.. and no we are not heading towards hyperinflation we are unfortunately heading towards a recession there is a big difference. A fetus’s right to live does not trump mine. Just because you never donated your non essential organs to someone dying on the transplant wait list, that does not make you a murderer. The same thing is true about removing a non-sentient, non-breathing, non-thinking clump of human dna from your life support (womb). You do not owe anyone the use of your body. That’s what the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is all about. Abortion is therefore a constitutional right.

If you force the fetus to be connected to you whether intentionally or unintentionally, their right to live trumps your bodily autonomy. If you have the ability to connect people to your organs against their will and make them to be dependent on you, if you unplug them before they can survive on their own you have essentially murdered them.

It is wrong to kill human beings on ventilators therefore it's wrong to kill human beings that can't breath on there own. Even a zygote is not a clump of DNA. You can’t, because a fetus isn’t “a baby”, nor is it sentient. How you (or some hypothetical future baby) feels about what someone else decides for something happening inside their own body is none of your business. Good thing abortion bans are being voted against in this country. Most people have the sense to know this is not a black & white issue. If YOU don’t want an abortion, great, don’t have one. I only hope you never face a complication during your pregnancy that would necessitate one, but I will guarantee you that someone you know and love has either had one or will need one.

Cases where the life of the mother is at risk is an extremely low percentage compared to the this-pregnancy-is-not-convenient-for-me-at-this-time abortion percentage. Planned parenthood offers other forms of birth control besides abortion…. Also, a fetus isn’t considered a child until fetus is deemed viable. Life beginning at contraception is purely religious view, not a scientific one. A baby cannot use the organs of another without the convent of said individual. Same as why a person can’t be forced to give up their organs upon death even if doing so will safe the life of another.
