My wife and I took the train for the first time and it was really nice to not have to drive! We probably wouldn’t feel safe riding solo, but I think if LA keeps it up they might have a legitimate transit system.

It's great to see Los Angeles investing in public transport improving trips and connections despite of being a car-centric city. But i wonder why a light rail through downtown and not a proper metro system which has more capacity for a great city as L.A.? Greetings from Chile.

Hey Los Angeles resident here! The American government completely despises public transport over all, this sentiment trickles down to the low government such as the LA city council which is extremely corrupt. Getting funding for any public good be it protected bike lines trains or anything is like pulling teeth. Most including myself hate our local government they completely suck. Sorry for the rant.

Good new is, there’s a rapid transit line downstairs at 7th/Metro center station, it’s just not a thru running system just yet… we’ve got the backbones, but our government only likes to invest in transit slowly and carefully compared to how they fund highway projects. The metro system would be pretty cool if it extended past the Wilshire and Hollywood corridors and got the same kind of federal funding that freeways get

Super. A free sleeper train for the fentanyl addicts and jabbering crazies from one end of the county to the other. I appreciate that the Measure M money is actually put to the use it was intended. I appreciate the thoughtful expansion in quality transit infrastructure. However, ridership safety and security is a real problem - and it's getting worse. It's not a problem that Metro caused, but it is still a shit of a problem plopped on their front door. If that's not addressed, it will sink the system.

Last Friday I rode the regional connector for the first time. Never particularly been a huge Metro fan because of how mishandled the agency is by its corrupt governance structure but i’m glad the system exists and they’ve gotten me where I need to go when I need it. I certainly enjoyed being able to avoid the transfer to the subway which adds time and hassle especially since I travel with a bike. The subway A650s also basically just constantly reek of…you know. So this connection was an improvement. I watched this when it came out but now that i’ve experienced the thing I figured i’d come back and leave a comment! The new stations look very nice too even a month after opening, hope they keep them in good shape!

I appreciate the effort but you failed to give any pertinent info. Where to begin? You should have said where you got on the subway first, then when you got to Union Station you did not say which direction you were going when you boarded the train or what train you got on(every train line has a name. They are not all the regional connector). You should have also pointed out what station stops you passed through and maybe add what was there since the train went underground. Sorry to beat you up about this but you really left a lot of info out.
