Very smart!!! I like the idea of having TWO sets of stairs complete with windows. At least you'll have a view when you're stuck on the stairs when you're trying to get off from the upper deck when in Central London!!!

The only thing I don't like is the S shaped window on the right side, they should have kept it linear, otherwise I think those busses are very good, roundy Masters were landmarks in London like the phone booths (that today may be turned into WiFi spots or VOIP telephone posts to preserve them) or the post collection boxes

@vorn29 I have travelled on both. they run bendys in cardiff and I spent time working in London in the late '90s and regularly used the RMs. My opinion is nothing to do with Boris; I will admit to being biased in the RMs favour as someone who is "into" old buses and trucks, but I felt it was wrong to get rid of the RMs when they first started doing it long before Boris got in. I think its just as big a waste of money to introduce a "new" routemaster. The solution IMO was to keep the originals

Bring back the proper rms rt buses, yes modernising london ,is certainly losing what london was, i dont recognise it anymore ,but then to be fair im from the old world ,so i would say that. Oh well, life goes on.

You can't replace the routemaster with a new style routemaster and call it that. There was-and will always be-only one routemaster; and it was retired a few years ago. Give me the original anytime; that was as famous as Arsenal, Spurs, Big Ben and anything else in the capital.

It was a stupid waste of money to have gotten rid of the originals. I still have the opinion that ken got a huge backhander off someone to get those stupid bendys in. Original RMs are still very much capable of doing a days work, sadly suffered from the "its old so it must be crap" brigade

@LTF85199 I think it's design will definitely be popular. But, as the lady says at the end: colossal waste of money. It wont actually improve passenger flows through the capital. It is just an expensive nostalgic token that conservatives will enjoy seeing from the windows of their jaguars. whats next, gold plated tube trains?

£8million for 5 buses??? i take it they will be gold plated with sauna and swimming pool included almost makes edinburghs trams seem value for money......ok maybe not that far just like edinburgh, a vanity project

I don't like it, it looks like a bad blend of modern and retro design themes. Now I do like the idea of reviving old designs like the mini cooper, ford mustang etc but this is will not digest well.
