The new Rubax MRL and last ride of the Thyssen Krupp MRL @Manchester Arndale

So far from what I can tell it’s had new logic new motor new door operator then we take a last ride on the remaining Thyssen Krupp.
I think the new lift levels a bit better but sounds like it’s settling in

Rubax is a very good generic company so it’s not surprising that the replacement is pretty good but I’m going to miss the chime on the old lifts and everything else

Man, I remember those question marks on the indicators when the right one was out of service for a while, wasn't that the one Jordan surfed as that may have been the reason it was out of service, maybe they were checking he hadn't damaged it, or even better, I wonder if he was about to get on top it?

I don't know who thought it was a good idea to make them slower. Like seriously, wtf?!?!?! Also the smaller side Thyssenkrupp's door problem has been fixed, looks like it's not being modded. :)

I'm sad to see them go, they bring back so many childhood memories and is it just me or are they slower after the mod? Also I'm sad the Gen2 whirring sound has gone. But in the other hand, those new ones are actually more efficient and at least it was only a mod and the motors still clucnk? Also those panels look like the old ones, did they actually change them or did they just modify the old ones? That would be really cool if they did!

Unfortunately not as all gone now last ones being worked on currently. Only one remaining for now is the one by Next but as you can see on my mini tour it was having a lot of door issues

I think you forgot one more lift. It is the Otis 2000 modded by kone in the food court. That is also a Rubax lift.

I personally don’t like it that much because of a simple question that every Genaric lift company Should answer: THAT WAS THE POINT OF MODERNISING THE THYSSENKRUPPS? The Thyssenkrupps used to go really fast and it used to have really good Acceleration. AND THEY WERE ONLY A FEW YEARS OLD. They could have just replaced the buttons and kept the logic. But because of Rubax lifts, they have made the lifts Less efficient. And that is just Disappointing. 🛗👎☹️

They were very unreliable Thyssen Krupp even had Otis helping try fix the right lift one time and it eventually worked again. It’s unfortunate but the mod was long needed and now they actually work and standard logic easy to work on.

Closed while they work on the glass lifts. Logic cabinets are in a set next to the left lift so in order to work on them safely they don’t currently serve 13

It’s Stentergate yes but it’s been reprogrammed to announce Level5 Car Parking etc instead of just Level5. It’s probably a whole new unit since the logics been replaced.
