Just bought this combo last week but plans changed. Sold the combo at a loss to help out a fellow gunner. Went with the Romeo 7 instead and LOVE it. It's essentially "Comp M4 at home".

The R7 is fantastic! You can always slap a magnifier behind it, if needed.

Great video. I picked up this combo from a LGS yesterday. It’s going on a 10.5 pistol . It’s more for cool factor to entice my son into shooting more . This is my first entry into a the magnifier game .

@@XXLDUDE I “borrowed long term “ a SFP black 1-8, owner needed it back. I had it on my 6.5 G. Now I ordered the on sale strike Eagle OPMOD FDE 1-8 for the 5.56, and will be getting “more scope “ for the 6.5 G

I run a Romeo 5 XDR with Juliet 3 Micro on my 300blk pistol and i love em. I did "upgrade" to an LPVO for my 5.56 SPR though. A Promary Arms Nova. I dont think magnifiers are a great choice outside of 4x tbh, i just dont think the sacrifices are worth it at the ranges you would want anything higher

6-18x44 scope for accuracy, a red dot mounted up top for CQB & passive long range aiming in tandem with a Viridian laser & cloud defensive WML. Heavy as hell but gets the job done…

That’s is a solid set up especially for use as a DMR / SPR and can moonlight as a light duty cqb.

It's even cheaper at PSA now. It's $229.99😂 for the combo. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing. Thanks for talking about eye relief. A lot of videos don't but on the forums a lot of people complained about the eye relief being way to close.

@@3s1kill honestly that’s what kills it. I’m sure it’s because of the 5x. It’s still useable, but it could be much better with a 3x or 4x with longer eye relief. At that price it’s a good deal for those that love red dots and don’t want an LPVO. This thing would rock in something like an 11.5 to 13.7. The dot is solid just limited (as in none) on mount options because of the battery.

Dim the dot to the lowest setting that you are still able to see the dot. It will help if it is properly zeroed.

What magazine you using?

Silver ones are duramag USGI, black ones are steel USGI from global ordinance (don’t recommend the base plates are softer than aluminum foil and dent if you drop em). I also run a combo of PMaG 30 g2 and old MFT 30s (don’t recommend because the feed lips get soft in hot weather and will dump 15-20 rounds out in your pouch.)
