The TX16S with the AG01 is a better radio for less money. It's multiproticol, has better gimbals and you can do more with the programming. Parts for it are cheap and EdgeTX is updated often.

Question: why get any of these models of spektrum, when I can get a Radio Master TX 16s that does the same and lets you use more protocols other than Spektrum and pay way less.

because openTX is buggy. mine says "emergency mode" and i dunno how to fix it. i said fuck it and went back to spektrum

So expensive when compared to the more capable radios from other brands such as Radiomaster and Jumper. It's taken Spektrum a long time to even start catching up to other brands, with things like USB-C charging. No module-bay so you'll be forever locked into the very expensive Spektrum ecosystem and just 7 channels for your $300? Hell, most of the competitors are at least 16 channels and some as many as 32 channels. The Spektrum NX7E would perhaps be best designed as a triumph of marketing over performance and features 🙂

Exactly! There's even lua scripts for spectrum forward programming. You can fly everything under the sun with a cheaper and more capable radio with companies like Radiomaster vs being locked into a proprietary ecosystem of overly expensive mediocre transmitters. I personally have a 4in1 tx16s markII with a ELRS module on the back and that covers everything I'd ever really want to fly.

I have been trying to find a list of the pre loaded bnf aircraft that come pre installed on the nx7e it says it has the templates already in the tx but not sure what ones or how many. Any ideas my friend. Cheers Bob

Looks like Spectrum is finally coming around to the rest of the world. Multi-protocol! It's about time! I've been a Radiomaster guy because of drones, and planes, with multi-protocol, and Edge TX, which allows you much more control than past Spectrum radios. Always admired their durability and build quality, but were proprietary and I couldn't fly drones. Might consider their next upgraded radio with multi protocol:-)

Where are you seeing that this supports "multi-protocol". The only protocol that matters, anyway is ELRS, which is light years ahead of dsmx.

Hi there, buddy, I went to my local hobby shop and look at that radio in my opinin. Hi, I believe that this writer was made very cheap. I prefer to buy the NX6 instead of that new 7. The NX6 has better quality. That noon seven I think is built very cheap like I said it's how I feel about this radio

Im so glad I've pulled away from Spektrum and thier scheme, I just hope others figure it out. Price to high, limited functionality, battery life is short, but ill stop there, not trying to get folks to change but just giving my opinion. 😊
