I have been binge watching supermarket sweep for a few days now LOL older & newer episodes. It is crazy how much the difference in totals, just finished watching one from 90's team #3 total was $307 and now seeing these totals almost 4 thousand. Thank U so much for uploading.

@@MewtwoStruckBack It's a 60 minute primetime show instead of a 30 minute daytime show. Even with more ads and two rounds it ends up with a need for more filler. Not saying it necessarily worked but the skits were part of making it a primetime show.

It isn't just that, this is a primetime version, the old version was daytime/syndicated. Inflation would only be like 2.5x the original show prices. That said, .........5k and 100k both paid for a college education in each era.............

The 90s version was a half hour daytime show, this was a one hour primetime show. The only show that kept its jackpot when moving to daytime was Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, although they made the later questions hilariously difficult to avoid it (they had two 1m winners and multiple 500k winners early on, it was clearly a bit too fair to the contestants when Meredith started haha)
