After several hours of frustration and phone calls to Timney, my Gunsmith gave up trying to install the comp trigger into my stock Glock 19 Gen 4. However, he did test installing it in his Glock 19 Gen 3, and it installed and functioned perfectly. Timney indicated on his last call that Timney had incurred some defective parts in their mfg. process causing issues for installations for Gen 4 pistols. Since I wasted $$ with the Gunsnith attempts I sold the Timney kit to him at a discount. I witnessed the final installation attempt.

I hate all these aftermarket Glock triggers, they all feel flimsy and cheap despite some of their $250 price tag. But these new Timney Triggers are by far the best I've ever seen on a Glock. I tried one out and I swear even the God of Striker triggers (Walther 45, Walther PPQ) were unable to beat it. I knew right away these Timney Triggers are going to change things in the Glock world forever. I'm very impressed by these Timney Triggers I'm curious what Taran Tactical will do with them. I've already seen what Johnny Glock did with them, let me telly ya, not even a fancy Gucci AR15 competition trigger will outshine what Johnny Glock's Timney Trigger.

For competition _"maybe"_ aftermarket parts like this Timmey trigger will help *_a little._* But marketing aside: For CCW/concealed carry or even regular self-defense save your money and/or put it into training/practicing at the range to learn your gun & it's trigger. I have seen people who actually train and shoot their guns in stock condition beat the pants off of folks with tricked out guns. *_It is not the tool, *_it is the man_* that is the _game changer._

One million percent true. But for a range toy or competition it can make a huge difference. But absolutely you have to first be good enough to take advantage of that improved trigger press. This is especially important if you own and shoot multiple different guns.

@@john-paulsilke893 As I said, within the small world of competition & "showing off" your tactical toys at the range. This trigger may work _"a little." It is not what average people need or is necessary for CCW or self-defense. This is in reality the after market trying to make more money period. Question that I will look up *_JPS:_* How many competitions have you been "good enough" to win with the Timney setup? I know the answer: ___none._____ God bless brother, nice try John-Paul Silke. EDIT: Oh, Happy Post Independence Day!!

@@john-paulsilke893 Exactly, thank you for being honest. Here is some truth people do not want out: - the gun industry is *only* about making money by promoting expensive hunting events, competitions of all kinds, & selling anything they can think of (from grips to sights to bra holsters). - certain accessories do enhance your performance in being faster & more accurate. But they only help a little as the man/woman who practices, trains, & is the 1st at the range/last to leave will almost always win. You have everything you need to win any battle, *_ANY battle_* inside you. Here is another point of view on all these salesman pushing aftermarket stuff: 1. If everyone used the Timney aftermarket Glock triggers... Who has the advantage? *_Answer:_* No one they cancel each other out. Timney Co. & the salesman - they are the winners. Laughing all the way to the bank. 2. If everyone just bought a good stock gun & learned how to shoot it well by practicing/training... Who has the advantage? *_Answer:_* The consumer by saving a lot of money although he/she has a stock gun that may be .0003 sec. slower on the lockup &/or .003578 sec slower on the trigger pull - *_no one noticed and you still won the fight in competition or on the street._* A few aftermarket parts & items are good (night sights, holsters, & so on) but barrels, triggers, lightening cuts, etc. are unnecessary. Put a stock *Norinco NP29* in _Jerry Michalic_ hands to shoot & then have him shoot a customized *Norinco NP29:* will there be a *_noticeable_* difference? Somethings to think about. God bless *EDIT:* Just discovered some safety issues with these Timney aftermarket triggers. See KZbin video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iamQn4SHp7B8bpI

True, but irrelevant to the content. We're on the channel of one of the best high-level competition shooters in the world, who specializes in training others to shoot at that level as well as creating custom guns for competition at that level. He's talking about a product for that audience... and would no doubt agree with you that training is more important than a race gun.

@@crackerjack6454 exactly. Those armchair cowboys make our guns and equipment cheaper but buying it. Depends if there is enough room BEHIND the trigger to slide your finger when crawling running and jumping. The lighter the better, IF you don't do 'reflexive shooting'. 3 pounds is a norm. So below 3 pounds might be better for lots of people.
@anonypersona3189
@anonypersona3189 3 жыл бұрын
I'd say 4-5 lbs is norm. Keep in mind your trigger weight (difference of a few pounds) won't matter much in a self defense scenario. Better to have a 4 lb trigger pull than a 2 lb trigger pull solely for safety purposes.
