Cold water tastes better and is more refreshing, if I feel thirsty or dehydrated and I drink room temperature water my mouth *still* feels thirsty and dehydrated, meanwhile if I drink cold water I *immediately* feel better. I shouldn't have to wait 20 minutes to an hour for the water to go through my system and rehydrate to have the thirst go away, then I just drink way TOO much water as I'm *still* thirsty so I go back for more, and now I'm bloated from having too much water in my stomach and probably get a little queasy if I have to move faster than my slowest possible speed. I don't know if cold water is *actually* more efficient at rehydrating, but I know it can't actually rehydrate me as fast as it *feels* like it does, but I'm drinking water to stop the thirsty feeling in my mouth and throat, not because I have cells shriveling up due to a lack of water, so obviously I'm going to prefer the option that immediately removes the feeling of thirst, since either way, water is water, so drinking more *will* hydrate me.

2:23 I actually know this one! The name, "Creepypasta", is derived from "Copypasta", which itself is derived from "Copypaster", which was a term used online for when people just copy and pasted funny blocks of text somewhere. (The connection between Copypasta and Copypaster is a bit tricky to see nowadays because of how often it's mispronounced)
@lagomoof8 ай бұрын
But have you considered why it's "paste" in the first place? To spare the search: Before the computer terminology, people literally used to stick bits of paper with the copied text into a document with glue. Scrapbook hobbyists almost surely still use this method. Glue used with paper is often, of course, called _paste._ And so the use as a verb. Things get weird at this point: Pasta gets its name from the fact it's (usually) made from a flour and water paste. Which can be also be used as a glue if you have nothing else.

Any questions?"
@shaden.l.m.95068 ай бұрын
You're mostly right. While Copypaster would be a sensical root term for Copypasta, Copypasta actually gets it's roots in "Copy and Paste". (copypaster shares these roots) And (this not a correction, just an add on) Creepypastas first spread by people copying, pasting them onto a new forum, altering some facts about it possibly or using the same trope (like "And out pops a skeleton" for instance). In an effort to make it more- well- creepy, as it was meant to obscure the true facts of a character
