Why are some listed with an S, ShG, HG, and XG? What are those initials stand for and why different sizes have different initials?

PG (power gear), HG (high gear), XG (extra-high gear). An 'S' behind the reel size, for example 2500S, means that it is a 2500 size reel but with a 'S'hallow spool, so with less line capacity aimed at thinner lines.

Hey, great video. Thank you. Today I got Ultegra C3000HG (2021 version). Is it normal for this reel that I feel micro bump somewhere in the reels rotation mechanics at the rate every 2nd time it travels a circle? Meaning, that when I spin the handle so fast that it starts to make a couple circles on its own, I feel little bumps in my other hand that is holding the reel while the it is spinning. Or is that a reels defect and I should replace it with another Ultegra reel? Hope for your reply, cheers.

can this reel (c5000xghg) been used in medium shore jigging with jigs around 60-70gr because i'm kind of scary since it has the spinning title on but overall specs looks like it will have no problem at all. Anyway value for money also since it is a shimano product we all know that will last

In my opinion it definitely can, yes. The Ultegra FC is salt water resistant and can easily be used on cod jigging. All the specs you need are in that reel. If you can afford the extra money, you could go for the Stradic FL for more durability. Ofc you can upgrade to a Sustain, Twinpower or Stella as well.

@Chris Gousias Before 2 weeks i purchase a jdm shimano stradic sw 6000xh. For sure this reel (^) can handle jigs. When you read things here and there you think that some reels can make it through saltwater ,jigs, 25+ meters deep, more or less until you get to your hands the right staff. Tight lines

Depends what you consider ''better''. Price technically yes, the Ultegra FC- with all its technics- is relatively cheap. Technically the FL has got a more robust metal housing but costs a bit more. I own both. You can't go wrong either way! Both got: Hagane Gear, X Ship, Micro Module II, Silent Drive, X Protect, 1 piece Bail, Long Stroke Spool, AR-C Spool, G Free Body. In addition the Ultegra FC has got the S-Arb (shield anti rust bearing) and the Stradic FB's Ci4 ''Graphite'' Body (carbon polyamide) where the Stradic FL has got the newer Hagane ''metal'' Body (aluminium/magnesium).

@@WestCoastFloridaFishing in the UK on smaller match fish in freshwater many use a combination of drag and back winding especially when the fish is near the landing net. Some people backwind a stick float down a river - two different techniques but require more than a drag.

@@leejohnson221 just use the centerpin :p haha we never use reserve switch in the Netherlands. Originally it is designed for boat offshore fishing but interesting you guys are using it in the UK on freshwater. Never felt the need for anything else besides the drag while fishing on freshwater species. I own the stradic FB/FL and now this one too. Solid reel, looks great and really affordable!
