Here are some additional GPU temps for those who are curious. Unfortunately, I don’t have another Gigabyte card to do a direct comparison, so i’m using the founders edition card as a frame of reference. After running Cyberpunk 2077 in 4k using the Path tracing preset for over 1 hour. Corsair Waterblock w/ Gigabyte 4090: GPU Avg Temp - 47.5ºC GPU Avg Memory Junction Temp - 56.3ºC Founders Edition 4090: GPU Avg Temp - 73.2ºC GPU Avg Memory Junction Temp - 82.1ºC Looks like the significant decrease in heat from the GPU die helps to maintain lower VRAM temperatures, as there is much less residual heat transfer.

Despite being an enthusiast with years of building experience myself, the level of detailing and explanation you've gone to in this video is just ridicolous. Absolutely loved the entire video and not hard at all even for the most novice of novices to follow. Even being 15 min, instead of an hour that most of these build guides are, is a massive plus as well. The fact that you're barely at 50K subscribers is just beyond me, you sir should be in the millions with this level of production quality, information and just overall awesomeness! Glad and honored to be subscribed to you and being almost from the beginning of your channel Devyn :)

If it weren't for that horrible GPU Waterblock looking cheap and tacky even though it's not, then the whole build would've been "Chefs kiss", but all in all, another great build Mr Johnston! I'll be honest with you when I say this, but you deserve more subscribers!

Unless I missed it, would have been nice to see memory temps for the GPU as well. Also, adding a temp sensor to the water loop and using that to maintain fan speed is also a good idea for custom loops.

Love everything about the build except the water block, I get why Corsair did it and from what I have seen, it’s functional I just think it’s pricey for what it is when you can spend a get more for a block that specific card you have. Great work though, you did a great job.

Beautiful build even with that nasty GPU block. That thing is hideous and I mean HIDEOUS. Why would anyone in their right mind go through all the trouble of a custom loop only to throw THAT thing in there?

temps could be good for the die but you need to check the memory and hotspot temps also. I think those need to install separate heatsinks as just relying on that tiny fan to cool it will not be enough. specially for those gamers in hotter climates.

Just a note knowing the denizens lurking the hallowed halls of YT ..... someone will blame you for a failed pump after 7 seconds of running because you did not add you need to flush your tubing AFTER you cut and bevel it . Great build, knowledgeable builder, great scripting and videography just slightly above most folks paygrade or ability levels to build this..... if I had an extra 10k laying about I too would build this system.

I feel like that is a lot of work for what is essentially the same temps you'd get on air in a case that size. That being said this is a very clean setup you have here, I did enjoy the video and your work as always keep it up.

Really GREAT, thorough, detailed video. Someone could really build a custom loop off this video. Straight forward, to the point tutorial. Well done. You earned a subscriber! I have to agree, that GPU block is cheap looking. BUT, great temps. It's a damn shame that you couldn't just leave the GPU heat sink without the fans because that heat sink is sick looking. Not to mention, that heat sink is probably the most expensive thing on the GPU (curious the actual cost to manufacturer it) Nice clean build and tech. The PS connections out the back, side? is a great feature. I wish my thor had that. Makes for a really clean build and I bet the component temps, although not a real concern, are probably better because the design allows the case air flow, front fans to rear fans, help to cool them. Definitely need to fill those ram slots, like you said.

i seen that the water block on the gpu does not cover all the vram on the gpu and other things is that ok for the gpu? i just clean my gpu like a week ago ( rx 580 saphire pulse ) and it had 0.75mm themal pads that i could not find anywhere so i just put thermal paste instead of thermal pads and everyone that i asked about this said that im gonna fry the vram and the gpu so is it ok if i use themal paste instead of themal pads??

nah i like more ZMT tubing in a matx Case . No Hard tubing looks so good like ZMT. Sad that PC Modding and Gaming is these Days a scam only you need the newest GPU for DLSS 3.0 DLSS 4.0 you're forced to buy RTX 5000 Cards and then most of the Games you can't Play without upscaling sad. Then today a Good Looking Midrange PC with Technic Feature are so expensive , like the new Corsair connect system, WTF 3 Fans plus Controller 150- 200 Euro wtf Fans , it's not like the new Fan shit push my fps by 30%. Every Generation I am buying the 70er series but since RTX 3000 and the prices i stock by my rtx 2070. 600- 900 for a RTX 4070/ti plus water block..and 2 Years DLSS Support

30 seconds is no-where near the amount of time needed to say its watertight. You'd want to leave it overnight or longer to really test it. Really reckless to tell people that 30 seconds is fine.
@devyn.johnston
@devyn.johnston 9 ай бұрын
Maybe take another listen to what i said? 30 seconds for the overpressure leak gauge, which is the exact directions in the documentation that comes with the XT Leak Tester. Then, once the loop is filled to leak test overnight before plugging in the motherboard connector. @13:25
