Well lets start with knowing its a well listened to station. 50,000 watt. 💘 LOVE pump. As SPIKE ODELL SAID. IM IN RADIO. MAKE A STUDIO .MAKE A NEW START BUT STOP THE WHORE SPONSORSHIP PLASTERED ON EVERYTHING. ITS NOT MODERN. ITS NOT TRENDY. ITS OVER THE TOP. STUDIO DOES NT NEED A SPONSOR THAT IS THAT PRESENT. no one wants to here we are live frome the allstate studio. They are the WGN AM720. STUDIO. PLAY THE SPONSOR. THEN GO BACK TO PROGRAMING. .. SPONSOR THE WEATHER THEN DO THE SHOW....... THIS IS JUST A SAD SHOW BOAT OF EXCESSIVENESS .....GO GO TO A NEW FREQ AND FIND TALK ELSEWHERE..

Yet, I just listened to the overnight show aircheck of WGN as taken from Philly in 1970. THE AUDIO QUALITY WAS MUCH BETTER THEN. Cleaner, richer, no distortion. Like every other AM station today, you have that mushy over-processed RE20 sound, with announcers "eating" the mic. Garbage. "Newer" is certainly not "better" in this case. I'm a professional audio mixer/producer with decades of experience in LA and New York. Go listen to NPR for real audio quality.

Actually the watermarking stations use for PPM ratings makes it sound like the audio is going through a tin can.
