I got the base game for free a couple of years ago!! My mom couldn’t afford to buy it and I remember being so excited when I went on to origin one day and it was free!! I think the game being free for a while is an amazing idea because it helps the people who really want to play but can’t afford it and I really hope they keep doing this every once in a while

That kit seems to be custom made for Oasis Spring. From personal experience, the last week before a moving tend to get hectic. Also, the 2 to 3 weeks AFTER moving often tend to be messy.

I definitely agree that they chose to make the base game free as an "in" for new players, so that they buy more packs. They often put it on sale for $5 so I know a lot of people who choose to pick it up at that pricepoint, myself included.

It would be cool if they'd make it so doors, at least patio doors like this, were dynamic, where you could interact with it and say "leave door open" or "close door", and maybe have open doors affect temperature in Seasons. I've thought this for a while because a lot of the doors would be nice to leave open. Edit: True of windows too, but no way they'd go through and do this for all the windows. Most of the windows don't even look like they can open.

Moving is one of the few times that having a greenscreen is super convenient, because you can save a picture of your intact background and then just ...use that, while the room itself gets taken down 😂

i think my only complaint with this kit is the same as yours with the doors. i LOVE the idea of having an open door for aesthetic purposes, but i also really need to close those doors for those same aesthetics in other times. 🤣 overall i love this kit tho. how can you not. its free? but also its super cute and versatile and i love geting more outdoor furniture.

it kinda makes sense that there's only the open version of the door. It's the type of door that folds as it opens so they would have to make a new animation just for the kit, which wouldn't make sense (kits are "simple", only build/buy and cas without new animations, which are expensive and take longer to make)

I'm hoping they add some variation of blackout curtains. Maybe they have and I just don't have whatever pack they're in, but I was building my room irl recently, and I have blackout curtains, and I couldn't get it to look right. One of my windows was okay but there was no black swatch on the curtains I had to use on my other windows (since they're literally the only curtains that cover the whole window that size)

Blue is a safe bet for everything because it is as neutral as a color can be without being an actual neutral tone. It doesn't have the stong or bold connotations most other colors have. That's why most wedding guests wear blue. On this build it also works really well because it pulls in the blue of the pool.

I just downloaded it and tried putting curtains up in my Family's living room. I just noticed the curtain rod piece they added doesn't slot right with every curtain on every wall height. If you have medium walls, you have to use the medium curtains

I like to call this the Paradox model - Not that Paradox games are typically permafree, but they are offered free so often during promotions and so cheaply during sales the base games are usually quite easy to come by cheap or free. The money for Paradox comes from the $100s or $1000s players spend on DLC

If this would be of interest to you a video about random little things that make your game easier would be cool, for example, like at 7:38 when you make the tiles go where you want, or how to toggle the grid off with “G”, or at 7:53, how you have the counters snap and change to a corner piece, even the keys you would use to go through swatches instead of manually clicking them. I feel like this could be really helpful to simmers (like me) who haven’t had the game long enough to know all these things. Zero pressure just thought it could be helpful

I just got the kit on my ps4 today and I was pleasantly surprised at how cheap it was in simoleons and how it blended into my home without being too obnoxious as well as the fact the mount makes it easier to hang the curtains without being pissed your window is too big (I sound like those promo bots lol). Can't wait to get the game on PC so I can finally play it with mods and CCs!! I asked my dad to get me the game before hand a few years back but I lost the account the game was tied to and didn't wanna go through the effort of buying it again and redoing my world.
