I've modded the old one to fix that weakens. It just involved bending the sheet metal a bit. Still, I haven't had much luck with live catch traps. Oh well.

Hi Shawn it would really interesting to estimate the number of mice in your barn. You could do this by way of a mark recapture experiment. Lots of instruction on the web on how to calculate abundance based on ratio of marked to unmarked.

Such a great video. These would be great in residences where baits can’t be used due to pets or children. I love the Pro Catch (Tin Cat) for its capacity but it’s not aesthetically pleasing.

I suspect all animals are smarter than we give them credit for, and the mice you catch and release find their way back to their/your home or barn. You should find a way to tag them to see if this is true. If you recapture a tagged mouse, you’ll know that they do.
@douglasrock94143 ай бұрын
When animals are released away from their immediate living area others of their species do not readily accept them and drive them out. They have no truly safe place to go and are usually eaten by predators. Most are quickly killed.

You would be cr*pping as well - being in that hot steam bath sauna of the mouse trap for those many hours, breathing and sweating out vast portions of body water ! Been there in an 18 wheeler driving across SW Texas to CA, and AC went out. 140+ F temps inside cab, and (did) fry my heat control enzymes in body, underwent hours long heat exhaustion, but did not die, sweated beyond reason, reached a truck stop, got inside, cool AC wind, pour ice down back, rub arms, face, and head with ice, ... and drink 1 gallon of water. Saved my life, but destroyed my health thereafter. So those 2 mice in this hothouse definitely would be soaked.
@senatorjosephmccarthy27209 ай бұрын
Good to learn you lived thru that. My son suffered something similar and it's effecting his ability to withstand heat now. And the designers of the above torture chamber didn't even realize the piece of junk they were planning? Seems man is getting dumber every day, because of his God being green.
