If inhabitants of England are English, Germany are Germans and USA are Americans then why all inhabitants of Hindustan are not known as Hindus, came a poser from RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday (August 10). "The cultural identity of all Indians is Hindutva and the present inhabitants of the country are descendants of this great culture," Bhagwat said while speaking at the 'Golden Jubilee' function of an Odia weekly in Cuttack. The RSS chief further went on to say that Hindutva is a way of life and Hindus could be of any religion worshipping any God or not worshipping at all.
Referring to Vivekananda, Bhagwat said not worshipping any God is not necessarily an atheist rather the one who doesn't have faith in self is sure an atheist. He said the world has now realised that Hindutva has been the only basis to keep India united since ancient days despite having plenty of diversities. He, however, expressed concern saying that some in India are not realising it and whenever a discussion on it takes place, the protagonist are wrongly branded as communal. Speaking on the current world scenario, the RSS leader said there is darkness everywhere and the world at large is looking at India for solace because India still marches on the path of righteousness. "As long as dharma exists in India, the world will continue to respect this country. But once dharma is gone, no force on earth can stop the country from crumbling," the RSS leader warned.

Manish is incorrect when he says other religions say that all paths lead to God-only Hinduism and Sikhism say that. Christianity and Islam both individually believe that members of other faiths will not be saved. Of course there are many moderates who adopt a more pluralistic view, but this is not what is enshrined in their doctrines and theologies.

vaishakh pv - you have the moral rights to have your own opinion and same as me. When you want to determine what is foreign and who is foreign, everyone is foreign to something at some point of time. I also strongly trust that Aryans with their language Sanskrit came from the middle of Eurasia. As Sanskrit is right mentioned in the dictionary - it is an Indo-european langauge. For Dravidian race, aryan race were foreign, but now that we all have mixed up well, how will identify the pure race of Aryans? So if we go with your Ghar Wapsi argument - do you want to find where Aryans came from and send them back? I do not want to send them back. I still love them as a fellow humans as all of us came from Africa at different time points. Aryans move up north of the hemisphere and lost their skin color. So at the bottom line is all are humans and if we do not have a stomach to face it, the person who cannot digest it will starve for love or even food someday.

Genetically, the gene responsbile for skin color is characterized and this determine the amount of melanocyte in your skin. The genetic analysis has confired the light skin color orignated in Europe and the light skin colored people migrated into the tropical regions with dark skins and got mixed. All prooving Aarya invasion theory. See which type of poeple in India are light skinned - the you will understand their origin. Dude you still believe in an outdated theory, Indians moved westward towards Europe and over 1000 of years became fair skinned Europeans . It's the melanin content in the skin which decides skin tone and colour , as for you say fair skinned South Indians they must have migrated from North India , it's highly possible , moreover change of skin colour taken tens of thousands of years , it's also the kind of work ppl did which also affected their skin tones . But slight differences in skin tones don't make us European , you just need to look up the research on this subject and you will find that max ppl in India have similar genes regardless of religion and colour , our genes is different to Europeans . Well I think that the first line spoken by Arnab Goswami is the crux of the whole debate. "People in Germany are called Germans, people in England are called English, people in America are called Americans....And Its so simple therefore says Mr Bhagvat. Then people in Hindustan should be called as Hindus....What is so blasphemous about that...... ". I would simply like to ask the congressmen and others of the same kind that what a muslim man should be called or would like to be called if he is citizen in Great Britain ? Should he be called British as per the social norms or rather an Arabic or Asian muslim ???? I bet he would definitely take pride in being called a British rather than being called by the names of his place of origin(or his ancestors). Then what the hell is the problem of the muslims or other minorities in India to refer to our nation as Hindustan as well ? Secondly, the name Bharat originates from the name of the King Bharat who was the ancestor of Kauravas and Pandavas in the epic of Mahabharat. It is believed that he was the king who ruled over the entire country and thus united it as a kingdom. This was just like China which gets its name from the king "Qinh" or "Chinn" who had ruled over entire Chinese region. So please come out of the hypocrisy and just accept the fact that the central culture & language of India is Hindu or Hindi which forms the entire identity of our nation. Arabs calls us a "Hind or Hindia, Chinese calls us as "Indu", Persians called us as "Sindhu", Greeks called us as "Indu". So kindly take pride in your true identity rather than remaining in transnational fairy tale identities or falsehood. Indian is a term given by Europeans. Hindustan (after the river Indus) is an identity defined by outsiders since they didn't know how to define them as the land of Bharat had no religion. Hindus simply means ppl living near the land on the river Indus. So a muslim or a christian living there is also a Hindu. And they can have a different belief system.

Arnab, you are partially right in saying that people in Germany are called german, France as French, actually all the Europeans are called Angrej, (in indian terms) similarly all those who are living in Hindustan should be called as Hindus. Indian muslims those who go for Huj, are registered as Hindu Hajis. For Arabians, those who are living on the other side of Sindhu river are called Hindus, regardless of caste and creed or religion.
