My guess for the "guest star" for this build is either: 1. An onsite demo for a big (300 series or larger) excavator or 2. One of the big dozers that C&C recently refurbished Either way, I'm sure it is going to be a work of landscape art by the time you're finished!

I like your #2 guess. He might have “tipped his hat” a bit when he said that the off-road truck might not need to move a lot of dirt. If he can source the right material for the dams, this could be almost a 100% push to shape project (both ponds). He did identify the need to put some slop out in a few fields for leveling.

i had the same issue when we started our pond.. a big spring right in the low spot going threw the dam.. so we put in 18 inch water line from 20 up in the pond and 150 ft down to a stream. then we put a riser pipe with a valve. required in our area.. keep it dry enough to get the dam up 20 ft.. still have 15 ft more to add to the dam.. will start back on it in the spring..

Isn't the 50-60 ton class machines a different level of transporting that would make bring to such a small job cost prohibitive even for demoing? A 550 should go to a job that is a bit longer term

@@inkman996 Chris is building 2 ponds here and he has to dig them out, so I'm guessing it will be at least 2 weeks at this job site. As a demo for Volvo, it might work out that he just needs to pay delivery and possibly no rental for the exposure. So for him, it might be worth his while.

That is a nicely sized Komatsu dozer already on site but another big one wouldn't hurt on this project... something like a big D8 is my guess. Knowing Chris has a good relationship with Volvo that really could through off all of our guesses. He could show up with just about anything Volvo has close by. I know Chris fell in love with a JD 850J when he operated it.

Hi Chris, I love watching all your jobs, especially your control of the 220 and the way in which you explain what your doing and why you are doing it. When you are using the dozer you do not give a running commentery and I find it difficult to understand your reasoning and skills, if you could it would make watching your dozer work more enjoyable. You are obviously very successful as you take a lot of pride in doing it right. Has you workload increased such that you are at the point of employing an assistant.? I recall that one huge piece of land (you have been out there many times) you did where the land was basically a swamp to begin with and you had to dig multiple drainage ditches to drain everything before you could really do anything at all. I therefore see no reason to doubt your drainage ditich here will not work . Unless they get another 4000 inches of rain again between now and when you start work next week. Not sure how the land owner buying a excavator and dozer is really saving himself any money over paying you to haul in and use your equipment but it's his money to spend how he pleases. I can't imagine what piece of top seceret equipment you might be bringing. 🙃
