You guys are the best...Everything I've ordered from you is loving life!!! Will check out this plant next!(funny story...I happened to be in a small market store at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo & there was a bottle of Aloe Vera in the chilled juice area...I thought it so unusual to have it chilled but I thought...Well? Maybe all the sunburned tourists liked their aloe vera chilled to soothe their burning skin...I bought some & proceeded to open it & start rubbing on my arms( Mind you...I had been already living in Key Largo for 18yrs so skin was quite tanned) As I stood in line to pay for it...rubbing it into my arms...the cashier said to me...that it was a juice for drinking!!!🤯 I was gobsmacked...I laughed so hard...then tried tasting it...Blechk...it tasted awful...The cashier kinda chuckled...& that's my story

Got my order in for 4 as soon as this hit! Really looking forward to these. I have some red spots on my arms. Aloe Vera helps, but doesn't clear them. I hope these will.

Greetings, is this plant the same as the Vicks plant, or is it different. Thank you.

Similar, but probably not. The common name Vick's Plant is most often used in reference to Plectranthus tomentosa. But common names like this can be applied to multiple different species, especially in a genus like Plectranthus that has naturalized around the world.

It depends who you ask. Common names like Comfort Plant, Vick's Plant, and Cuban Oregano often get applied to different/a mix of/overlapping species of Plectranthus. We call P. tomentosa Vick's Plant and P. amboinicus Comfort Plant, but other people use other names. All valid when it comes to common names :)

You can actually make a tincture by steeping the crushed leaves in some vodka. We use the juice of that plant to cure coughs.

Really informative! But not sure why he keeps calling it a "brand new plant". This is Cuban oregano and my family has been growing it in the US for as long as I can remember.

@@Gnildir Good observation! I have an Indian friend (from India) in the U.S. who has been given a plant and I've been trying to i.d. it. I took a picture of the plant and a leaf from the plant to a garden store and two ladies who work there told me it's definitely "Mexican oregano". It has an upright growth habit, definitely succulent, but the leaves smell more like basil, or thyme. These same ladies told me there is another similar plant but it smells like eucalyptus, or Vick's Vapor rub--that must be what this fellow has. I'm going back there to see if they can give me more information about the plants....

It's a strong grower, so you might be able to dig up and divide rooted portions. Barring that, you could certainly take stem cuttings and re-root them like this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hYqTe4SVjK55hZI
