I was super impressed by Spectre Divide having ZERO expectations prior to this capture event but learning more about the studio and the developers behind it was refreshing to say the least. Great to see some innovation in the FPS space for the first time in a while, even if round based shooters have been done a thousand times already or perhaps aren't your usual cup of tea, I think anyone can appreciate what they're trying to do with this game and bringing back adaptive decision making to the FPS genre! This game looks very unique and surprisingly polished. The gunplay looks very satisfying. I think the spectres, choice to make it 3v3 and have aim down sites be the preferred method for gunfire are great design decisions. This definitely feels like it’ll be a good mix between CS/Val and your traditional shooter like CoD. Very much love that there’s no running. Won’t have stupid bunny hoppers all over the map

7:43 the line of sight mechanic might be one of the simplest, yest mind-bogglingly smartest "why hasn't this been done before" features I've seen. How often do you try to communicate to your teammate, "over there!" with no easy point of reference? I love this.

Game looks genuinely awesome, and really fun to watch too! Could see this doing really well with the e-sports/streaming crowd. Some games are a lot of fun to play, boring to watch, like I love Diablo but it's dull as dishwater to watch. Not sure if this is my type of shooter to play, but a lot of fun to watch. Great QOL features and awesome design decisions across the board too. Hope this game succeeds and does well for the devs! It's awesome to see people escaping the clutches of the AAA machine and making the things that compel them. Some disgusting snipes there too Tomo, love to see it

it's just Valorant with worse graphics and one extra gimmick. I don't see it staying relevant for more than a few months. I can assure you the "you can respawn during a round" gimmick is gonna get old really fast and won't provide even close to the amount of depth people are hoping for.

Also you can easily bait people or spend more than one round without firing your gun if you match with less skilled players. The matchmaking has to be done so precise which is hard to do. What if one player loses connection or rage-quits? Players will learn the spots people use to teleport the most and simply camp there.

I unironically take all my fps recommendations from uncle Tom and I feel like this could be a cool one. Absolutely LOVE the decision to have ADS. It's the biggest part of why I don't enjoy CS or valorant.

but the whole point is that its a copy of both games with just one feature that will make people go and say "oh thats something new, i'll try" but it just becomes tedious to play like that. And also, spray patterns and accuracy are one of the skills that makes cs (/valorant) so good and skill based, you need to learn these things when wanting to play in a competetive game. just play cod if you wanna play casual or what am i missing?

@@appearr7611 just because the gameplay is similar doesnt mean the gunplay has to be. not everything has to be a cs copy. that gunplay is precisely the reason why i dont like cs and val. val is more tolerable but still. my friends say im not bad and that i could be pretty decent if i kept playing, but i just really hate it. u say that like cod is the only other fps game out there. fps games can be competitive without the bullets coming out the top of the barrel. i liked dirty bomb a lot and there the focus was solely on aim and movement. i didnt get into the ranked scene much but it was still a competitive obj based fps. i lean more towards casual, but that doesnt mean anything competitive is just out the window. also idk why whenever i say i dont like cs/val, ppl automatically assume it means i want 0 spread and recoil. but if ur answer is "just play cod" then i dont think anything i could say would mean anything to u

The playtest actually was solid. Their is a lot of gun variety and they all feel good and not OP. Movement feels solid and it does feel like you are facing a team of 6 which is cool. Its solid and definitely will have a unique skill ceiling.

The graphics are a great choice. It's good for a tactical fps experience for clarity AND drastically reduced gpu load, meaning insanely high fps. I imagine this game will be optimized like CS

So your class is your sponsor. Nice. ADS is great too, love it. (edit: just realized the recoil actually moves your view, not only the gun like in CS (or gun and crosshair) but the whole view, which is waaaaaay better.) If there's real deterministic spray pattern without any spread (randomness) then I'll sold. Does it work on Linux or at least with Steam Proton?
