Surfinturk: I have been supporting Chelsea since 1961..I went to lots of matches, home and away, before I came to live in The Netherlands. Of course I will back the new manager whoever it turns out to be but I am convinced that Mourinho is the only man that can get this team back on track! The only problem would be with the owners who should never have come to the club in the first place!

I watched Matt Law talking about the good blood between Poch and the the club and how they seem to have reached a grown up agreement. That leads me to believe that they just didn't see eye to eye on the style of play they wanted. The blueprint seems to call for a possession-dominant midfield run by Enzo Fernandez which, apart from boding badly for Conor Gallagher, suggests that Maresca would be their ideal candidate. McKenna's Ipswich didn't play that way at all.

I think you are wrong. That's the main reason Man U never recovered. They allowed Fergie to run things and define the club's football philosophy when he left no one to continue. On the Infinite Athlete situation. The original tweet was just badly worded, nothing deep. It made it sound like their partnership with Chelsea was done but actually they meant the shirt sponsorship is done. If Infinite Athletes investors thought the whole partnership was done then it would hurt Infinite Athlete. They will still be handling the clubs media like highlights, live streams and also the performance analysis end of things with the Biocore side of their business too. So they had to reword the tweet.

Personally i would like de zerbi. i like his football and find it a bit unfair to judge him of the games against us because he lost many of his high quality key players in the summer and anyway we have much more quality. The other thing is, i can't dismiss him because of his former employer, think he has the right abilities and seemed to made a fuss at brighton because he felt a lack of ambition with their transfer business. @@christianvieri7118 Well I'd certainly consider Tuchel and Mourinho elite enough and they have both been linked to us. But who said anything about elite anyway? I just don't think Maresca is any good. Nothing has been able to convince me of him yet and winning promotion with the favorites to do so isn't exactly the biggest achievement. Amorim has 2 league titles and is doing incredibly well at Sporting, McKenna has won back-to-back promotions with a team that was BY FAR not expected to do so and De Zerbi has managed to bring Brighton to 6th place in the Prem. With those 3 I at least see a chance of it working out but Maresca has almost nothing to show for. Neither will change a lot if they fuck up but I'd much rather take the chance on a manger that already has managed to convince me that it might work out instead of picking the one option that has yet to do so.

I think it's worth mentioning that inexperienced is only referring to experience as a head-coach. Most of those guys were able to work with head-coaches as assistant managers or as head-coaches of youth teams, so they do have some experience to show for. Not exactly the same but also not nothing. McKenna had 54 games a youth coach and was an assistant coach for Man United for 200 (!) games. Hoeneß already coached Hoffenheim for ~80 games, various Bayern youth teams for a total of more than 100 games and the Leipzig U17 for 26 games. All pretty successfully. Maresca has 60 games as an assistant under Pep, 64 under Pellegrini at West Ham, 28 games coaching the Man City U23 and 14 games as the Parma head-coach (Parma stint was apparently pretty bad). Amorim is an outlier with almost not even having coach a youth team. Transfermarkt says he coached Braga B for 3 months but they don't know for how many games and apart from that he seems to have always been a head-coach. He's also an outlier by somehow having been a pretty successful and sought after and coach for 5 years now and he's not even 40 yet.

The lesson is, always give your important social media PR announcements to the least experienced intern you can find. Makes the company look very professional. I think it's going to be Maresca. He's a possession-oriented coach. He comes without any baggage at all. A completely blank slate. Amorim and de Zerbi both have big egos. McKenna's playing style doesn't suit what the new ownership wants, and we can't afford a bidding war with United. I think we can get Maresca entirely on our own terms and probably for less money. This is very possibly how the new board is thinking.

The way people analyze and talk about De zerbi is so wrong. He got his entire midfield taken and they gave him horrible replacements. Everyone knows games are won and lost in the midfield in the premier league. His defense is and was absolutely shocking. We have far better players here at Chelsea and I think he would have us playing better football. De Zerbi would be the best option for this team.

Has connection with Caicedo, Mudryk and Colwill, has documanted ability to improve players. Yes he finish 11th this season but ffs they've lost Caicedo, McAlliste,e Trossard, Colwill and Undav in span of half year! Add Cucurella and Bissouma half year prior to that. Brighton was drained af before this season. For my money Roberto is the best possible option. Get him fast to work please.
