A 40" minimum height is nice, it opens it up to pretty much any kid over 5. A lot of current mine trains have a 42" or 48" minimum. Also the single-row cars will allow for some really tight turns, a great way to make a "low and slow" coaster more exciting. Overall I think this will be a great line of family coasters.

The problem with Skyline is they're trying to fill the niche of ultra-low budget coasters. This means their creations are cheap, and they feel it. See Harley Quinn Crazy Coaster. Skyline can do amazing layouts. Look at their work with GCI, and what they can do with a budget. However, what they can do with a low budget as yet to achieve anything above absolute failure.
@David9PM2 жыл бұрын
Looks like the RMC T-Rex model.
@Jcoaster952 жыл бұрын
Idk why anyone is worried about this not being good, when it's basically just a steel GCI with single rail titan track. No new and wild concepts like Harley Quinn or Tidal Twister, just a typical Jeff Pike layout that looks extremely similar to some of his beloved masterpieces like Prowler and Mystic Timbers.

@rcengineer2 жыл бұрын
It certainly looks good but I doubt it will be able to match a classic mine train. For example, the Phantasialand mine train, in addition to being well-themed, is also surprisingly fast, and has some alarmingly high banking for a coaster with buzz bars and bench seats, so it feels hazardous to ride it. I don't think this model will be able to recreate that. Also, if they want to call it a mine train, they need to somehow integrate wooden planks into the track design, like every other mine train.
@tc68182 жыл бұрын
I can see the LED lighting being used to create a false impression of speed by animating the lights faster than the train is actually moving. Throw in some blowers to give the sensation of wind and people might think they're doing 70 mph when they're really doing 30.

The #1 part that fails in all manufactured products? Is fasteners. This idea of a "Weld free" track is not going to be long lived. The more fasteners you have? The more likely it is that they are going to fail. Sorry but that is the engineer in me.
@sm1tty.2 жыл бұрын
I imagine this is designed in such a way that maintenance would have a cycle to go through and inspect and replace fasteners over time, which is a trivial thing compared to repairing a welded track
@davefroman47002 жыл бұрын
@@sm1tty. Fasteners strip out over time. As do the rivnuts they are using to capture them. Sorry but this thing has maintenance headache written all over it after 3-4 years out in the elements. Not to mention that doing it with fasteners is actually more expensive than welding.

The only thing that annoying me a bit is that we are losing the real mine train aspect (old look and bumpy track), it will be too much modern! On the other side it’s a great level up for the family coasters in general 😊
@michaelonskis2 жыл бұрын
@@smpiano6605 I agree, the "mine train" aspect is defenitely a gimmick. Because they're tailoring this to FEC's too! It's not a mine train, they just want to make it as diverse as possible, so they claim it can be.
