i don't think Riley ever really wanted to be in a relationship with Alfie... I think she felt vulnerable when James went away and needed to feel comfortable and she thought she'd find that in Alfie. she wanted what James had always given her and while he was away she craved the closeness and used Alfie to get that....when James gets back she thinks alfie can replace James. glad she soon realises she needs him back :)
