Fun fact when we had cold cold games we wore latex gloves inside our football gloves to keep our hands warm.... it works great😂

ehh. I've tried that. a light wool insert and regular receiver gloves are the way to go. you can stuff heating pads on the tops of your hands and wear one of those fanny packs and keep a bunch of heating pads in there

I don't understand how this is even remotely representative of catching conditions within a game. Lightly tossing 10 yard passes is completely different than some of the passes college QBs throw in-game. Essentially, apples and oranges are being compared. Anyone with large hands or gloves can catch a regulation football easily with or without gloves, even with one hand when if your hands are large enough. As a comparison, D1 quarterbacks throw at around 55 mph while in the video, they're throwing balls 10 yards in around 0.7 seconds, or roughly give or take 28 mph. The performance of the gloves would really begin to differ once the velocities reach greater values rather than just ~28 mph. Just my two cents.

You would have to use the same type of gloves for this experiment to work, so that they have the same baseline coefficient of friction. Also a proper control or "baseline" as you called it for this experiment would be catching with no gloves on.
