Clyde Edwards Helaire is playing really well right now. He’s finally being used like he was at LSU, being used correctly. He’s always had that kind of potential, his entrance into the NFL probably wasn’t what he wanted it to be when he was drafted. He rushed for over 1,000 yards his rookie year. If he keeps this up he’s on pace for 1,600 yards combined. His helmet is something I’ve never seen before, it looks like something out of a gum ball machine. I’m pulling for 25 to have a great year and stay healthy. Keep feeding him to his strengths in his game.

Yeah I noticed his helmet during preseason. Its lit IMO. Its the new most noticeable helmet in the league. A few other players in the league mostly RB have the same helmet as CEH. The majority of the players in the league have new helmets.

Taylor is a great running back!....but, in college he couldn't catch! The Chiefs considered him, but chose CEH based on his pass catching. It is easy to look @ JT & say could'a, would'a, should'a, but coming out of college, CEH better fit Andy's offense. JT has developed into an a good receiving back as well now, but I haven't really looked @ his blocking skills. He runs the ball about 30x a game though, whereas CEH might get 10-15 touches. One thing that makes me hopeful is that other than Kareem Hunt, most of Andy's backs he drafted & had success (like Westbrook & McCoy) didn't have great years until their 3rd season in this offense😉

I’m so torn on this. I’m happy that he’s having his best start to a season, but the lack of vision and explosiveness concern me. I’m rooting for CEH but something in my gut says he’s not the long term answer. I hope I’m wrong.

He looks like he has more meat on his bones this year than the past few seasons and it's showing up on runs that he need to run though contact. His pass pro seems to have improved as well, giving EB and Andy more confidence in having Clyde out there on more pass plays, giving him more opportunities to potentially be targeted, therefore letting him do what he was drafted to do which was to be a receiving back in a pass heavy offensive scheme.

So glad its looking like I was wrong about CEH! He's looking great, Him and Pacheco will be a brutal one-two punch with Mahomes leading the offense. I think the chiefs need to run run run the ball this year! Look at how well it worked for the browns. A mediocre QB tore up Pittsburgh's defense because of the respect to the run game. (Nothing disrespect against Brissett he's always been one of the most solid back-ups I've ever seen besides Matt Moore and Nick Foles.) but just imagine if that was Mahomes! 2:25 Its hard to tackle a tree trunk. And when he went down That reminded me of Philadelphia Vs Dallas when Brian Westbrook went down on his own on the 1 yd line to keep the ball out of Romos hands and keep the clock running to win the game (because he has a knack to pull off comebacks.) It was a high IQ play. I think Reid was the coach back then too.

some guys just take a couple years to really step up in the NFL. Kelce was injured his first year, then exploded after that. these days people are too impatient, and take draft position so seriously it skews their view of players. Fisher is a good example of that. first overall pick, played solid most of his career, but didn't get the credit he deserved because people expected HOF quality from the first overall pick. throw draft position out and just look at their work on the field. CEH has been really solid when he's been healthy. this year if he can stay that way, people are going to be eating crow.

CEH is too small, too slow, and cannot find gaps in running the ball. He is also terrible on short yardage plays. He doesn't have the ability to fall forward for tough additional yards like Kareem used to. Chiefs should be done with him, but I guess they don't want to declare him a bust just yet. I have seen CEH throw some good blocks on a pass rusher, and since this is a passing offense that has value. Would be nice if he had the speed to run away from Linebackers, seems he never quite has enough juice to break away when being chased.

Not surprised at all by CEH's success. He's always been better than what the masses seem to think. Look at his avg. per carry each season. He just hasn't seen the carries. Outside of being prone to injury, which is certainly fair, I've never doubted this cat. I saw a lot of him at LSU and was stoked when we got him. I thought he was the second-best back in that draft, actually. Fingers crossed he stays healthy and IP continues to develop...'cause I think he's could be fun to watch as he matures, too.

I have to disagree. He may have impressive numbers this season but he can hardly be compared to Jonathan Taylor who is the best in any league. CEH is a good open field runner but lacks the speed of backs in JT's category. He is decent in short yardage gains but I think he lacks the vision to find the open hole on a consistent basis.

@@hbtCHIEFS Well, the Chiefs could’ve had him (I actually wanted them to pick him with the Clyde pick), but would he have had more success than Clyde has had? Who knows? 30 other teams could have had him too. it's easy to look back with revisionist's goggles and say "should have could have" but the truth is that no one knows who is going to be great coming out of the draft. throw draft position out the window, once they're on the team you should root for them to be great, not criticize because "this other guy is so much better."
